  1. These are the first lure covers I've had. They seem very well made too. I store the rods in the hull of my kayak when transporting so it's going to make it easier pulling them out and keeping them untangled. Not to mention may save me a treble hook in the hand one day....
  2. Got an online order in yesterday..... And a smaller one came in today with a couple more coming! These megabass s cranks look sweeeeeet! Can't wait to get one snagged and go swimming for it if I have to....
  3. made me laugh.... that's how my dad would pronounce tomatoes....
  4. Saw Mitch G(erber) on the Central Park Bassmaster story, slide 13 of 24... http://www.bassmaster.com/slideshow/elites-promote-bass-fishing-central-park Pretty cool. I went to Central Park last weekend while my BIL proposed to his girlfriend.... it was near a fountain near the lake. of course all i'm thinking is how i should have had a rod with me....
  5. who cares? when i'm snapping a couple pics of my catch i'm usually so pumped i don't even think about any positioning or anything.... i'd say about 95% of my pictures are useless anyways because i have some turd looking smile/smirk on my face....
  6. went ahead and bought the components separately and going to install one on each side. got some paracord, harken pulleys and mini zig zag cleats to rig it up. may just start out with rivets, should they ever be a problem i should be able to drill the hole out and use the well nuts...
  7. nothing better than red maters..... not too fond of those green ones myself.
  8. a post about which rod/reel for under $150.... a post about how to fish this particular pond.... a post about how to fish a senko/jig.... a post about lure X costs soooooo much money.... oh wait a minute.... you do see these. EveryDay.
  9. look up heat shrink tubing for senkos. Better than the o ring in that you can hook perpendicular to the worm. Google for Wayne P's article on wacky rigs.... the heat shrink tube is the way to go.
  10. on the old yak, i had a trolley and used rivets.... just seems that many of the higher end kits recommend using well nuts. i'm not too concerned about pulling them out either.... so long as i install them properly
  11. I'm looking to add 2 anchor trolleys to both sides of the ride 135, but had a couple questions for those with experience. For those of you using an anchor trolley, which kit did you purchase? Did you install with screws, well nuts, rivets or other method? Thanks!
  12. i can tell you that a 4.5lb smallie would get a lot of folks excited in Middle GA
  13. i'm in middle GA but it's about the same deal here.... hot is an understatement. I'm contemplating some night fishing this weekend myself. It's just so hot and pretty busy with the pleasure boaters as of late... either way i doubt you'll see me fishing between noon and about 4 pm as I just don't care to do much of anything in the triple digit degrees
  14. none. just take your time working the putty and applying it to the area that seems to be as flat as possible in the hull.
  15. just pressed the transducer down into a hockey puck size piece of the duct seal. Best part is you can pick it up and move it and make sure you get the best spot before making anything permanent. Just go to the home improvement store and ask for the duct seal, usually around the electrical or HVAC areas.
  16. nothing is as soothing as the sound of Jim Nantz commentating on golf.... but Johnny Miller does bring some color to the conversations that's for sure
  17. I would try duct seal before anything permanent or semi permanent. It will cost you less than $5 at Lowe's or Home Depot. It is not permanent, can be moved, fixed, etc. Great for trying out the thru hull method. i used it on my old sit in and it worked great. Temp readings can be 1 or 2 degrees off, but no big deal. I now use the CellBlok on my ride 135. I like it. The best part is being able to completely remove the whole unit in seconds. if traveling and i don't want to keep the unit on the boat, i can put it in the back of the truck and lock it up. If hitting the river and i don't need the FF, i just take it off and leave it at the house. my only thing is the arm for the transducer can take a little work to get it just right as far as getting the arm in the right position to reduce intereference, but once you get it set, you're good to go. the best part is how it allows you to manage the cables/battery in one compact spot and never have to drill the first hole in the yak!
  18. i'd be stoked about a 4.8lb smallmouth man......
  19. at least someone took it home to eat it.... it's not that big of a deal though on a small scale, you tried.
  20. i ordered 2 today, we'll see when they arrive.
  21. glad none of the ones i fish are on the list!
  22. buckeyes or just got some custom ones from pro line lures that are nicely made with a screw lock for the bait. haven't fished them yet, but they seem like nice quality.
