in, thanks!!! BUT why oh why does it always take me about 8 tries to get those stupid security things right? every time.....

you guys are all acting like dropping some brush piles around a 56,000 acre lake is going to automatically put you in beast mode come tournament time. all this does is give him a bunch more waypoints (of which he likely already had tons) to TRY and CATCH a fish. this shows his own hard work and determination to the best at the biggest time of his career. this is far more sporting in my opinion than the guys who solicit hot baits and locations from locals as they are known to do.

i'm really surprised that they're showing so much fishing footage.... seems like a guy at the bottom could review it tonight or even have someone review in real time and make adjustments based on what seemed to be working for the guys at the top..... i mean i think it's cool, but also seems like the pros would have an issue with it!

my buddy has at least 10 of these rods and i've used a couple on occasion and really liked them. for $50 they're fantastic rods.

he's saying that everyone on here says you have to throw big braid to match the line diameter of mono, hence his slightly sarcastic 90b reference. when in fact, they only make that line in 50, 65, 80 and 100lb test so i was saying perhaps they agree with the big line diameter thought process as well.

you backlashing early or late in the cast? if early on, adjust the brakes. if the backlash seems to be occurring towards the end of the cast, adjust the cast control/spool tension knob. for what it's worth, i never really over head that much. i find the best cast is a nice fluid one more so than a jerk or snap motion that an overhead produces for me. probably also has A LOT to do with the fact that over head casts and kayaks with crates in the rear are mortal enemies!!

once i fell in while trying to get the kayak launched, water was chilly, but i kept with it and fished all day. one time my dad and i were fishing and he was talking a bunch of sh**, leaned over to wash his hands off and bam in the water he goes. one of those memory moments you will remember for the rest of your life. after pulling him in by his overall straps, my brother and i laughed until we were sick.... thankfully mine were all in fun and games, but it does make you realize with all of these replies how so many can drown each year from simple accidents!!!

Just drove over Hartwell on I-85 and the water is down a pretty good bit. I'm excited to see how they are catching them and what the winner ends up throwing the most.

Mike, do you ever use those swing impacts as swim jig trailers? and if so, what size do you prefer?

i'm one of those guys. i like to take a red sharpie and fill in the gill lines on hardbaits that mimic baitfish. can't say if it helps anything at all, but it doesn't seem to hurt.

one of those topics i hate to be right about..... worst part of it all being the lack of compensation for these guys after the fact. much like LEO, armed forces, hazmat workers, bomb squads, etc., we should be doing everything to prevent the dangers, but when they exist, doing everything to serve them as they've served us.....
