  2. Headed over to Weiss this weekend to a buddy's house. Going to take the kayak and get out Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Just wondering if anybody has any up to date info on the bass fishing? Can't find much of any reports online, but I'm guessing plastics, jigs, squarebills and spinnerbaits should get it done? Thanks for anything you've got!
  3. what have i done??? NRX 853cJWR came in yesterday! Will be my new jig rod, teamed up with a Team Lew's Pro Z 7.1:1 and 16lb Sniper.
  4. i don't understand the math one bit man, but that's super cool! the 3d printer is going to be revolutionary once enough people know how to apply it all.
  5. for the money, i can't find a rod that beats the lightning shock series. i still have 2 of them that get used on the river.
  6. agree, but really makes me wonder how much the science and medicine will change once they start to acknowledge the head trauma is a legitimate issue....
  7. so that he can buy them back again
  8. i agree that it's not 100% on hookups for me, north of 50% though. i only like the softer body frogs myself. booyahs fit the bill, soft and priced right.
  9. nice going man! fun to explore some new territory in the yak!
  10. nice fish man, that first pic looks like a froggin' hole for sure!
  11. i don't know about international. for domestic, i've put a 2 piece rod in a 3" PVC tube with screw in end caps and that worked just fine. i wouldn't want to be told you can't carry them on. some are even funny about allowing the reels with line and lures to go carry on. best to call the airline now and figure out what they'll allow.
  12. wear it over your rain gear or it might not inflate properly! it was raining hard on me on Friday for the ~7 hours i fished with mine on and never had an issue with it...
  13. if you have something to grap on to, this is the easiest way to do it! i used the same thing to grab on to the stems of isolated lily pads on saturday and was holding perfectly in ~15MPH winds. couple that with the anchor trolley and you can position yourself just about any way you want to!
  14. mine just blew a wad at some lululemon warehouse sale, so i've got the upper hand for now! (or at least that's the lie i told myself)
  15. nice! i think just about any plastic works as a trailer on a bladed jig....
  16. nice catches there Chris!
  17. ouch! glad you didn't have to head to the ER with that one!
  18. very nice fish and nice story on the catch!
  19. that's my buddy in the pic, but he's in a jackson coosa kayak. i fish out of a wilderness ride 135 kayak. Neither actually! Went on Lake Acworth on Thursday night (south end of Allatoona), Lake Varner over in Covington on Friday and a small lake on someone's property on Saturday in the Dallas/Villa Rica area. All of them are much more friendly to fish from the kayak!
  20. Tarpon fishing is fun!! I didn't land one when I went, but did get a solid hour long fight and wow!! i did catch a couple jack crevalle too and those things are beasts for their size! Good luck to you man!
  21. i've been using 40# here lately with zero issues and i've been fishing some super thick pads too
  22. yeah certain foods will trigger them, most especially things with the artificial sweetener Aspartame, that stuff will wreck me! Can't drink beer because of something with the fermentation process, it too wrecks me, but i can drink liquor no problem! But those can be avoided mostly, i'm talking about the types of migraines where you wake up between 2 and 4 AM, can't go back to sleep, pray to God you can vomit which oddly makes me feel better and sometimes come pretty close to checking yourself into the ER type of headaches!
  23. My buddy came down from Charlotte, NC to do some fishing here in GA. We went to 3 different lakes Thursday, Friday and Saturday. i thought for sure we'd get on some fish, but boy was i wrong! We had 3 of the worst days imaginable! He caught 1 fish on Thursday, we caught ZERO on Friday (same went for 3 other guys on the lake), on Saturday he caught one and a i got 4 tiny dinks AND THAT WAS IT!!! The only fish worth mentioning was the one my buddy caught on Thursday night. He hooked it on a texas rigged ribbontail worm and this thing was a champion fighter! He took my buddy for a sleigh ride and pulled him around in a 360 three times! short, but stocky and weight in at 5lb4oz. otherwise just poor fishing, but good times were still had!
  24. spro frog, regular size is 5/8oz, that's not light. i was bombing that about 50 yards or so on saturday on the baitcaster with zero issues. also helps if you're not using a super heavy rod with a hard tip. i'm using a dobyns DX704 that has enough power to fish it, but a soft enough tip to make long and accurate casts. list out what all you're using here and that might help with the answers: rod, reel, line, frog
  25. i'm with darren on this one. i rarely do it, but use the stake out pole when i do. i have a 4.4lb gym weight, but it sucks in any wind. i need to get another grapple style like yours for the few times i actually need it in deeper water.... if you rig the quick release way you'll get it back the majority of the time.
