^^^ Yes, it can slip but if you take measures to not let that happen, then there's nothing to ever worry about. I have multiple spools filled with nothing but braid and so do many others on here. 1.5 wraps of electrical tape before you tie your arbor knot will solve any concerns with braid slipping on the spool. Some shallow spools don't hold much line to start and backing with #12 or 14 can really cut down on the capacity of the spool.

Does anyone use this specific coat and can you tell me if it is a good value for the money? I'm just looking for something to keep me dry while out on the kayak during the early spring months. If you do own one,do they fit pretty true to size? I read somewhere online that the coat is kinda short. That's a concern since I'll be sitting down in the kayak a lot of the time.

Rod ratings are just guidelines to go by. Sometimes they're spot on and sometimes you can go heavier than rated. Sometimes it's max rating is a bit over zealous too. Tie on a 5/8oz bait and you'll know if it feels overloaded.

You should be just fine. It'll fish the 1.5's and the 1/2oz great.

I throw the other 2 sizes of the S crank. They have a great action to them. The 2.0 shouldn't be any different. I have sk squarebills also but these are definitely a different bait. Some of us don't mind the cost of certain things. Weather it be shoes,clothes,coffee, or fishing gear. Heck some of us buy these 'expensive' baits and sit them on a shelf just to look at.

That's why you ship in pvc instead of cardboard when dealing with high end rods.

I'll only buy reels from Daiwa or Megabass which is just a Daiwa that's been worked over. Reason for that is the large amount of aftermarket support available. You have so many options for spools,handles, and other cosmetic parts. There's 12 spools just from Zpi in the 001 size. Not to mention the ones they'll be releasing soon. There's also the limited aspect of it all. There's reels that not a lot of people will have due to limited numbers available or the price tag. As for rods I'm wasn't brand loyal but now all my rods are Megabass. The reason for that is they just flat out work for what I want in a rod. I'm sure there are others out there that will too and if I would of tried those first I'd have a stable of those instead.

Fury 734 or 704 if you like a bit shorter rod. It's rated as a heavy but fishes like a medium heavy since Dobyns tends to overrate their rods. Tip section is soft also.

You're going to get 50 different suggestions. It's tough to beat the Daiwa tatula ct for a reel in the $100 range. For rods it's a toss up. I'd have no problem pairing it with Dobyns fury 704. Wait for sales and deals and you could put that combo together for just about $200 or a bit more. Take a look at the top of this forum for the sticky thread on $100 rods.

J dream and other MB zillion variants use the 12mm bolt.

On the Zonda it's a bolt. The driveshaft is tapped and threaded. Just like the steez and IS reels. Some Daiwa and MB reels use a 12mm bolt also.

The bolt is a 10mm and you turn it to the left to loosen it unlike other Daiwas that use the nut and those are reverse threads. The Allen wrench size is 2.5mm. I'm not home or I could be 100% on that but I'm 99% sure that's the size.

Yes, it's possible with a Daiwa. People commonly use the faster level wind 'worm gear' in a couple of others to help line lay.
