  1. If you want to stay Loomis in that range, go for the E6X. The gl2 is just not a 200 dollar rod. Unless you are getting it on clearance. I use a Fenwick et for ds and s shimano crucial. Both are excellent.
  2. You could always go higher end or dare I say try a JDM reel. I love my Chronarch Es, 50MGs and CI4s.
  3. Shimano guy but I would definitely not get the Caenan.
  4. 1/4 oz plus my favorite worm of the day a lot of the time, setup 12 lb floro and size 2 mustad circle on a citica 200 g7 and fenwick et smallmouth medium fast. In fact i can cast a weightwless zoom worm on it with little difficulty. I wont win awards on distance though with just the zoom worms but i get enough to target areas i need to. Last time i used that setup 27 smallmouth bass in 3 hours.
  5. I find that Shimano, Fenwick and Loomis has the performance I like. I personally found Veritas 1.0, Daiwa T Rod/Zillion and Avids' stiffer than I liked. I think it is personal preference, I go by whatever I think feels right for the rod and use the ranges as "guidelines".
  6. No experience with the Tatula. However the pq's are great. I have three of them. They are regularly in my lineup.
  7. The 7'3crucial first choice then 6'10" 2nd choice
  8. Awesome Hootie! Another 1000 more techniques to learn.
  9. time to thin the herd. Fish fry?
  10. yeah bugs me too. They take all kinds of undersized fish. Sometimes I make a point when I catch a bigger one to admire my catch and then release'm. Excuse me please? Umm no sorry.
  11. Haha I had that happen recently. I said screw it set the hook and reeled the bass in. Then let line out to pick out my backlash again and watch my line for another fish
  12. Good advice above. I agree you will need both. Seriously though if i were to get one then the 4 power is what I would go for.
  13. That is crazy, best story I've heard.
  14. I never forget the worm, when all things fail I go to the trusty worm.
  15. HAHA this is getting interesting. I use yellow braid a lot and I don't have problems catching fish. I even directly tie it to my lures. I guess I'll be SOL in my waters near me once they understand yellow lines mean danger. Until then, I will keep catching.
  16. That tree screams fish me too.
  17. Nice catches!!
  18. Missing out then! One of my favorite baits to throw in to this stuff is a weightless fluke. Drag it across the top and/or let it fall in pockets. Caught many fish this way! Zoom Trick Worms and Stick baits too!
  19. I would also use a weedless hook, wacky rig a senko or worm.
  20. Frog, Weightless Fluke, Weightless Senko, pitch jigs, Texas Rigged Trick worms, and if you can punch it.
  21. Unless they changed the Orra to Aluminum, I would advise against it.
  22. Definitely my recommendation is BPS PQ. I have 3 and they are solid workhorses. They go on sale often at around 79.99.
  23. My favorite Zoom and Havoc Bottom Hoppers
  24. HAH Deep....a Lewsies? Backlash means it's a bad reel?
