  1. What you never seen a fish fart? Where do you think the bubbles come from?
  2. I do something similar as you. I have my mid to high dollar rods -> Cumara/Crucials, GLX, Cumulus for when I'm going all out and my better shimano reels. But I find myself using my Fenwick ET Smallmouth/Aetos/Veritas/GL2 rods see more time on the water. (Simply because they come with me bank fishing and most of the time on my kayak and friends boat) I catch more fish with them, obviously because I was on the water with them more. I am planning to keep a record on how much that difference is for 2015. Still though, when I do take out my high end rods and reels...I enjoy them and admire them while I fish.
  3. Which GL2 do you have? I have the 893C JWR, I don't think it's that bad, I use mine as a spinnerbait rod and works fine. Just not what you would a 200 dollar rod should be. It's in my regular arsenal though.
  4. Aaron Martens is my favorite Pro, his name isn't enough for me to buy something that looks "rushed" and very cheap looking.
  5. I actually find the opposite. The salt guys come to me and say look at this I caught yadda yadda and it was 100lbs. Silly person trying to catch a 1lb fishy. This from people I know. Heck, the salmon and trout fisherman think I'm wasting my time. But I don't care really.
  6. Don't buy it, Abu rods don't work. In all seriousness, I own a Veritas. Solid stick, I like it because it is a versatile rod. Little on the stiff side.
  7. For the price I just saw it for too. I'll pass.
  8. I'm pretty sure the 122+ page thread says you're not alone.
  9. Silly, they wouldn't all fit in one boat. He has a boat specifically for his gear only.
  10. Fisher and SirSnookalot - we northerners do not appreciate you rubbing our noses even further in it. Not cool.
  11. Yes that is what I meant, why I specifically quoted Hootie's post. Sorry for any confusion. I would never say they were the "same" as GL2s. I own GLXs and would kick myself if they were expensive GL2s. I own one GL2, not horrible rod but not worth the "price". Should be a 100 or less rod.
  12. This is what they wanted last season for me.
  13. Yeah it's been since October since I bought anything and I'm going a little nuts. My very small temporary relief will be coming this weekend when I hit BPS during the Spring Fishing Classic sale.
  14. It's me being lazy not having to tie every time, using specific equipment for (weather, season, time, day) and liking my equipment too. Aside from that I don't care what others think. I love bass fishing and it makes it fun.
  15. I think it should be fine like stated in my previous post. I think the action (Shimano Rods) you're looking for is close enough to try jerkbaits.
  16. Ish physically boarded his boat and physically touched Poche, He went beyond the line, Ish should've had a more severe punishment. Poche maybe was thinking of his career that he didn't press charges. Never an excuse no matter what to get physical with someone, ever.
  17. The shipping cost would be too much unfortunately for Canadian Residents.
  18. Just so you know the lowest price I've seen around these parts is 60 if you're lucky, but regularly it is around the 80 dollar mark.
  19. Yes I agree you have the Curado 200B it is 6.3.1. I own one still and still real smooth.
  20. As for perch, I find them everywhere no shortage to find them for me. Big ones you usually catch in open water, but the smaller guys I find them near shoreline, rocky areas, weedlines, creek channels...etc. They also seem to spawn the same time as crappies and feed the same time during Spring and Fall. Not an expert though, never bothered since I see them all the time and it's not hard to catch cause I can catch them in abundance, I never even thought to ever "look" for them.
