  1. One of mine is a tip and the other on the Dobyns is a middle guide which must have gotten damaged during transport.
  2. okay so I called Dobyns and they are sending me the replacement guide. Abu Garcia has not yet responded. Might be a little harder to get something from them.
  3. Just this past week, I lost an insert out of a tip and then on another rod I lost an insert out of a middle guide. Not sure how or where. I noticed I have never lost an insert on a rod with microguides. Whenever I get the chance, I will take them by Tackle Trap to get repaired. anyone else hate when this happens?
  4. we dont have bass season in alabama. Can fish year round
  5. have you tried slowing down the retrieve to be near the bottom?
  6. total for 2 packs of Megabugs plus the $6+ shipping came out to around $16.50 total. Not gonna pay $8+ for a pack of soft plastics when I can get any other kind for $3 to $4 on TW.
  7. I looked through TW and didn't see many options. Never would have found out about the MegaBug if not for asking.
  8. for rivers in the south, all you need is topwater, spinnerbait, jigs.
  9. wow, the MegaBug looks awesome. Perfect color match. Going to have to try them out. Shipping is kinda high for just two packs of plastics though.
  10. my favorite color of soft plastics is known as Bama Craw/Bammer Craw/Alabama Craw. I know Rage has this color and also Netbait has this color. Any other brands have a color similar to this under a different name?
  11. They are back in business. Mini-me's are awesome.
  12. I picked up a lot of Rage baits yesterday there. Some Green Pumpkin Buckeye Mop Jigs were only $1.48 Big Bite Baits 4" Creatures were only .48. I cleaned those out.
  13. The huge smallie I caught this past weekend was in 2 feet of crystal clear water and she ate a 3/8 oz with a Rage Craw on it. I also throw my shaky head on a baitcaster instead of spinning gear so the added weight is nice. I don't think the fish care about the size of the head as much as the soft plastic that is on it.
  14. I like 3/8 and 5/16. I am not a finesse fisherman. I like all of my lures to weight at least 1/2 oz. Some people go real finesse with shaky head but I haven't felt the need too.
  15. Im partial to Buckeye Lures Spot Remover Pro Model with the twist lock. Doesn't get hung much and I rarely lose fish on them.
  16. Before this past weekend, I had only caught one smallmouth in my life. I have a 2 hour drive north to find the Tennessee River for the nearest smallmouth. Well I fished a tournament in TN this past weekend and landed big bass in the tournament with this 21.25 inch smallmouth. It was between 5 & 6 lbs. Caught it in a few feet of water on a Rage Craw.
  17. I got the 766 Flip in the Savvy lineup and it is a beast. It also doubles as my smaller swimbait rod as well. Easily handles the 5 or 6 inch bull shad.
  18. I have had the ones made of elaztech melt though boxes, even if all by their selves.
  19. I have used all but the Exo. I like the Revo and Tatula. Not the biggest fan of the Smoke. If I had to buy another one today, I would get another Tatula off Amazon for $95
  20. hey JeremyRyanWebb, I came across the new Bass Assasin Boss Shiner and actually prefer it over the Keitech. Actually has more bend in the tail at half the price. Side by side, you cannot tell them apart.
  21. I hate Bass Pro cause their prices are sky high.
  22. for size, about 99% of the time I use 1/2 oz.
  23. War Eagle, Premier League Lures, D&M Sniper, Revenge
