  1. i think it is called sportsmans channel. i am going tomorrow. i am staying south though. i will post after sunday because i got shalacked the last time i gave info.
  2. the kotg dates are set in stone. it is always tough the first round. the flats guys always do well the first and second round. hank and skip will dominate the first round, but many are spending more time on the flats. with the water being as high as it is, you must get on the flats and cover lots of water. i am going this saturday to see what i can find. i have a club tourny at the park next sunday the 11th.
  3. i heard moonshine has to be at 15 feet to get in there. i was in that area tuesday but didn't go in. your boat should probably get in there. i am not sure of a ramp in moore haven. put in at clewiston and take the seven mile ditch and you are right there. good luck shane.

stay tough lee. it must be hard to quit, my mother had bladder cancer from smoking and she still smokes. i used to yell at her all the time, but now i figure she is on the backnine of life so i just stopped yelling. your kids will thank you for it in 20 years.
  6. fished from sun-up til sundown. put in at clewiston and ran way north. caught a ton of fish with 2 going 5+. we had 18 pounds in the boat by 10am. started working our way down south and continued to crush them on big ez's, dippers, swim jigs and flukes. i have been fishing lake o for about 30 years and i have had days where we were in a school of fish and caught them one after another in the 2-3 pound class. that all changed tonight. at 4 o'clock, my partner and i were catching 3-5 pound schooling fish for a solid hour. we caught well over 40 fish within that hour. we actually left them biting. they were hitting everything we threw--spooks, swim baits, propbaits, spinnerbaits, EVERYTHING! it was incredible! i have heard of guys getting into big schools, but until tonight i have never experienced that kind of fun. i am parched, beat and stoked all at the same time. lake okeechobee is the hottest lake on the planet. go get some.
  7. effective immediately paterno is fired.
  8. i'm in lee. let me know when it starts.
  9. fished burkes tournament yesterday out of belle glade. it is amazing how clean the water is even with the wind blowing. fished west and east wall and caught a ton of fish there. we had 20.4 pounds and did not even come close to the mcmillans who had 30.7 and 28.9 respectfully. those guys just flat out kow where the big ones are. our big fish was 6.7. jared had a 8.54 and a 7.92. even with bad weather, the lake is hot!
  10. it was a one fish big fish tourny. we only fished until 1.
  11. i fished a big fish tourny on saturday out of slims. water was amazing everywhere. rained hard from 7:15 to 10 and then no rain til 1. fishing was fantastic! mike surman had big fish 7.54. myself and 4 others each had 6+ pounders. fishing is only going to get better. http://my.sfwmd.gov/sfwmd/common/images/weather/rt/rt_L.OKEE.html

  14. somehow i lost the butt end of my flipping stick. can i replace this myself or do i need to take it to the shop? if i can replace, where do i buy the butt end? thanks in advance.
  15. on saturday my partner and i found some really good fish at a couple of spots. on sunday it was a dinkfest. we caught a ton of 2-3 pound fish and nothing bigger. we had 15 pounds and change. we messed up and stayed in pelican too long. we were catching so many fish, that we thought we would get into some bigger ones. it never happened. kenny (never enough) who is a BR member came in fourth with 22 pounds.
  16. just use them. they will work even with the slight bend. i am using a 5/0 weighted gammy and they will swim. i was at gambler today and picked up about 200 big ez's and ez swimers. those things are like snicker bars on lake o.
  17. the week of thanksgiving would be ideal for me. i would love to get together with the BR brothers.
  18. i was just going to post the same thing. smart minds think alike. can't wait for this weekend.

  21. great pics! how have you been avid?
  22. carl hiaasen's double whammy.
  23. i used to surf daytona beach pier at night all the time. my friends brother went to embry riddle university and we would visit him all the time. the lights on the pier were plenty bright enough. as for the sharks, i've seen lots of them during the day. singer island pumphouse ALWAYS has a bunch of sharks when there's waves. when the mullet are running, so are the sharks, bluefish, snook, tarpon and every other palagic. just gotta block 'em out.
  24. dang paul! are there any dinks in that pond of yours?
