scrounger fish pb
keep pluggin cowgirl. one thing i have found with the scrounger, is that it is a hit or miss bait. either they inhale it or they want nothing to do with it. i went back to that same lake and caught zero fish on a scrounger. they wanted a fluke instead. good luck.

scrounger fish pb
decided not to put the boat in at lox because of the cold and wind. headed out west to one of my land spots and wacked 'em. got my biggest fish on a scrounger to date. caught about 30 fish, and a real nice one that was every bit over 6 pounds. don't know how big but i would say between 7 and 8 pounds. all fish were caught on a scrounger.

holiday park 12-22
sorry doug, i'm set. find someone and fish it. like glades said, if the water continues to drop, the canals will be on fire. just gotta find the big ones. blm should have at least 75 boats an event. great prizes at each event. go to kingoftheglades.com for more info.

holiday park 12-22
put in at the park at 6:15. this is the first of many trips preparing for the king of the glades series. ran to the fingers and fished until 10 am without a single bite. water was 57 degrees. ran to the alley and caught fish at every bridge with a caroilna rig. also flipped up a 3 pounder. i found a decent pattern with a giggy head. caught around 12 pounds at my first spot. ran farther west and stayed with that giggy pattern and caught another 12 pounds of fish. flipped a little, but nothing. ran back east and fish the wier and caught a bunch of 2 pounders on a carolina rig and a swimming senko. i doubt i will fish the wiers at tourny time because of the traffic. had between 10 and 12 pounds at the wier. if you see any rocks, throw a giggy on or near it, and you will get bit. i have a feeling the king series is going to be tough with this cold weather we have been having. any one going to fish it this year?

Off the shnide - Lox
i fished the big fish tourny on sunday and came in third with a 4.6. big fish was 6.3 and the second was 5.10. the water was 58 and never got higher than 61. it got colder as the day went on. another front is coming sunday and it should cool the water even more.

XMAS Xchange -- Show us the loot thread
no worries fishing cowgirl! i have been having really good success with the gambler big-ez. i love the scrounger when the bite is tough. i use a fluke (not the super fluke, but the regular fluke) and i fish it on 10-12 pound flouro. slow roll it and the bite is kinda spongy. now for the good stuff. fishing cowgirl, you are the BEST! i am fishing from sun-up til sundown tomorrow and i cannot wait to chuck those dippers (especially the junebug with charteuse tail). bitters bait and tackle sells the best made soft plastics for less. love that place! the greatest gift was the drawing you made. it rocks! that was the icing on the cake. anytime you and your husband are down south, give me a call and i will do my best to put you on some everglades fish. again, thanks for the generous gift. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

First Artificial lure
mine as well. i loved that bait. i still use it quite often when fishing little canals araound the neighborhood. i also had a bagley small fry in silver. after a bunch of fish, the clear coat would get tattered and the foil would start ripping.

brutal day for me. caught 5 fish quick. all small (1lb) keepers. i stayed in that area as long as I could, but the wind was working me. i wish i had a power pole. i didn't bother to weigh my fish in. 22 pounds won and 21 was second. they paid 16 spots and i think 16th was 11 and change. i agree with sal, it was a very smooth take off and weigh in. i believe there were 124 boats. a lot of no shows due the weather. i thought for sure the bite was going to be way better. the water temp never got above 56 where i was at. as i was running from the lake to the rim ditch in some little trail from buzzards, i was hitting tree limbs. the water is dropping super fast. be careful.

Ugh....The family dog had to be put down last night.
sorry to hear of your dads loss robert. i put my jack russel down this summer and i was crushed. i handled it ok, but my son was devastated. he slept with a picture for a week. i miss that dog greatly. all dogs go to heaven.

Are colleges educating student athletes?
here are the top 10 BCS ranked teams graduation rate: 1. Stanford 86% 2. Miami Fl. 81% 3. Iowa 79% 4. VT 79% 5. TCU 71% 6. Missouri 71% 7. Nebraska 68% 8. Alabama 67% 9. LSU 67% 10. Nevada 65% I have no idea what some of these students majored in (for all I know it was underwater basketweaving), but I agree, most athletes cannot speak proper english. I cringe sometimes when I hear some of the words that come out of an athletes mouth as they are being interviewed. Scary.

too frickin cold! i fished mm41 yesterday and caught dinks all day. we had a whopping 5.83 pounds. the absolute hilarious thing about that was------we won. big fish was 2.8 pounds and that guy brought home a buckfifty. we got a couple hundred. cannot believe we won. i hate the cold weather. weather channel says tomorrow it will be 40 degrees at 7 am and it feels like 32. are you kidding me?

Tough Windy Day...
Very Funny! ;D on another note...Local 7 News just reported that we should expect weather to be in the mid 50's for awhile! > great. i have a tourny at mm41 on sunday. the bite out there is already tough. the cold weather should make it even tougher.
