I use 15#-17# fluorocarbon main line and 12-15 lb mono leader. Sometimes I use braid for my main line but I think it is quite a bit more visible than floro even though it is the main line.Your baits will have more floatation with a mono leader. T

I have the older model STX and am totally satisfied with it. TW has them for $139 ...If I didn't already have so many reels I would jump on this deal. The new one has a different handle and a tweaked brake system ,things that aren't an issue to me on the old STX T

I have an old Shimano Speedmaster that has damage to the wrapping on the first guide freom the handle. It doesn't appear to be wrapped with thread ? Any help on how I would go about repairing this myself would be appreciated. Also if anyone has any history on this line of rods I would appreciate it...it is 6'6" MH with a straight handle and from what I can remember Shimano didn't make a lot of these.

I have had the best success with the original buzzbait ...Lunker Lure in 1/2 and 1/4 oz. It squeaks like hell. The squeakier the better.. T

My wife teaches middle school and some of the crazy things that go on there are ridiculous. A teacher cannot touch a kid , this goes for breaking up a fight, a pat on the back etc.. She had a student that sat down in the hallway and refused to move she had to call the campus cop to come get the kid.I told her I'm glad I wasn't in your shoes because I would have jerked him up hard by the collar. Also if a student regardless of how dangerous or disruptive they are is kicked out of school the school loses money for that student?? I've had my a** paddled a few times in school and I grew up fine ...Go figure T

I usually will fish shallow with deeper water close by.Start off working your bait fairly fast and slow down if you don't have any success. T

I'm not a big braid fan , I only use it when flipping / pitching the real nasty stuff or CR in weedy situations. Braid is not good around rocks and would be my last choice for the reels you have. I would go with the Curado for worm fishing with 12# Flourocarbon line and 8# mono or flouro with your spinning reel. T
