  1. I have also owned a good amount of high end stuff and so far Top 3 would be. Chronarch D7 (I have two). One has an avail spool/upgraded bearings with 30lb and it can literally throw ANYTHING with a single brake on. I think the combination of the aluminum frame/sideplate and bearings is what puts it above the core for me. Alphas Type R - all purpose finesse baitcaster Zillion Type R - all purpose heavy application reel....soooooo smooth --------------------- Top marks also go to my pixzilla, zillion 50th anniversary and core 50.
  2. Ha! I stayed out of the savvy topic but being that I've done Bjj for 12 years I HAD to chime in on this topic lol
  3. Off topic but chuck actually is an avid bjj practitioner and is at least a brown belt lol
  4. It's specifically meant for spinning gear. I'm sure it will take awhile for some reviews to come out. I would try it if I didn't have about 500 yards of 8lb sniper already lol
  5. I use the mike long specifically for football jigs and c rigs. It's action isn't quite what I like for close pitching/flipping as I prefer the 745. That being said I can see some would like it for plastics because of extra length.
  6. Bb1 for cranks is 5.1 Super duty for frogs/pitching/punching in 7.1 (soon to be released 8.1) Tournament pro for all purpose
  7. To be fair, my frog rod is the dx 746. Which one do you use again hmmmmmmm?
  8. Go with the 705..... I mean the 735!
  9. They are fresh off the press so you will probably need some time before you get any solid believable reviews.
  10. I use the pit boss, devil spear, craw fatty and juice worm. They have all caught me fish. The pit boss is my go to Texas rig plastic
  11. I get the apprehension. When I go fun fishing or on the Reservoirs, I use beater gear just because I don't wanna risk breaking it lololol
  12. That should work fine. Previous generation zillions are going for ultra cheap now so you can get them for $180-200 which is an awesome deal
  13. Calfish on Tackletour is the standard by which painted reels are judged. If you can get in touch with him, he will do whatever you want and do it well.
  14. I have had numerous issues with fed ex... Can't stand them
  15. I have caught fish with them doing almost everything. Usualy they are a Texas rig until they tear up then they become a jig trailer. I've buzzed them on the surface, swam them like a Spinnerbait and used them on a c rig and caught fish. My favorite plastic bait
  16. Hawgtech and get the color anodized to match....ohhhhhh yea. When getting a swept handle, make sure it fits around the sol's straight star drag which the hawgtech swept handle does.
  17. I use a dx 784. It's a heavy power but the taper is a fast bordering on moderate fast action which helps compensate when trying to drive light wire hooks into the fish in deep water. For rese reasons, I don't really use it for shallow water pitching or jigs as I prefer a quicker transition into power like my dx 745. The 784 is also my crig rod. As you have read, people have their preferences and I'm sure all of them do the job well. Good luck!
  18. I would actually suggest the champ 764 as it has some added Length and power which I prefer for deeper water presentations. Great Carolina rig rod as well.
  19. Lighter reel, full grip, Heavier reel, split group General rule of thumb. So sayeth the vegetable who has no knowledge...
  20. Hawgtech 102mm for extra Torque and one heck of a sweet look
  21. 15lb 832 braid And a leader is all use... Totally changes the easy of spinning gear by avoiding many wind knots etc
  22. I do prefer the full handles myself. You're very specific with your weights so it's good you have a system down pat. I tend to keep jigs on the 745 and trigs on the 744. Weightless is the 742.
  23. Bringing an innocent bystander into this is unnecessary lol. You guys are merciless. On a serious note, that sucks. Blank issue or user error?
  24. Speed spool can get had for $80 and then a $20 rebate. No brainer for me.
