Spinnerbait/chatter Bait Line
Anything between 12lb fluoro and 40lb braid. I throw chatterbaits on heavier line depending on weeds etc.

Rod Recommendation For Jerkbait/topwater
Bashed through it may get, the skeet rod is perfectly fine for topwaters. I have owned this rod and for it's intended applications it wasn't bad at all and it can be had for a great price. For jerkbaits, use fluro and You will be fine

Lews 95Mm Carbon Fiber Handle
Sweet quick upgrade for a daiwa or lews. I happen to like the lews knobs and found them comfortable. The fact that they come with 4 bearings is a huge plus

Any Encounter Counterfeit Or Knock-Off Fishing Gear?
I read about a bunch of fake tatsu when it first came out. It had a slightly yellow tinge to it which people on TT where mentioning. I think it's great that jdm is stuff more readily available because it tends to cut down on stuff like this

Alton Jones Switch To Abu Garcia?
I noticed that as well. Some changes I also noticed. 1. Rojas left quantum but was still throwing exo reels as of the classic. Must still be waiting on the new duckett reels. 2. Alton throwing revos 3. Mclleland now throwing Cabelas reels. 4. Kriet throwing Shimano instead of Abu 1 or 2 years ago, Abu dumped a bunch of Their longtime staff including Jay Yelas, Larry Nixon, Boyd Duckett Amoung others. Contracts change, people move on etc. However I do laugh when a guy changes companies and says that he has used their products for years.

Dobyns 734C Help
The 734 is the most versatile rod in the lineup. Use it for jigs, Texas rigs, chatterbaits, buzzbaits, spinnerbaits and on and on. You won't regret it

Chatter Bait
Honestly you have to try to keep the fish down do he doesn't jump and throw the hook. Instead of retrieving with the rod up, keep it down so as to steer the fish to the boat and not pull it up to the surface

Where Have All The Shorter Rods Gone???
I had a st. Croix premier that was 6ft so I assume they are still around. The recent trend had been longer rods for faster line pickup and longer casting. However, since I fish from shore or the back of the boat, there are numerous occasions where a shorter rod is ideal so I hope they don't go away lol. Maybe to show a return of the short rod, Dobyns recently released a DX 683 and 635cb so there must be a demand for shorter rods.

Team Lews Rods
If you got one of the $199 versions then you got a deal. They recently switched to an updated line and I'm assuming discounted the previous generation. For swimbaits, you should be fine.

Caught Between Dobyns, Powell, & St. Croix
A good group to be caught between for sure. I would go champion for sure but all these rods have their supporters. Whichever you choose, I'm sure you will find it up to your standards

Worm And Jig Rod Sensitivity
I err on the side of caution and use the most sensitive rods I can all the time so they can double for bottom baits when need be. For example, I'm going to be using a DX 746 mostly for frogging. Way overkill for a non sensitivity presentation BUT I want the option to punch or use heavy jigs and that is when I will appreciate the sensitivity

What Rod For Weightless Plastics...whats Everyone Using?
Senkos and flukes are very doable with the right line and rod. I was tossing flukes yesterday with a fuego reel and 12lb Fluoro. The weight of the hook and plastic put them in the range that a baitcaster can handle

Dobyns Champion Help?
Bwhahahahaha! I have the 734!!!! Oh yea and a dx 704. But to be fair he said he likes 7ft sticks AND it was going to be around docks. That's what I get for listening I guess lol. You are the first guy to call me small lol. Most would say, rotund or at the very least, jolly

Heavy Power Rods
1. Dobyns champion 734c - all purpose moving baits - spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chatterbaits, swimjigs, big spooks, jigs 2. Dobyns champ extreme 704c - open water frogs, buzzing frogs, all purpose 3. Dobyns champ extreme 744c - t rigs almost exclusively. 4. Dobyns champ extreme 784MLC - football jigs, Carolina rigs, pitching. 5. Daiko Karisma stick 6'6 H - close quarters pitching etc. I feel that 4 power dobyns rods are the most versatile in their standard lineup because of their action. Many would compare these to a MH in other companies lineup such as Abu/St. Croix etc.
