  1. My fav is the Cabin Creek Spider Parts. The skirts come separate so its easy to mix/match. Also you'll notice one tentacle is thicker than the rest - that's to rig the jig head weedless.
  2. I love big baits, but I have a hard time paying Roman Made money. I'm sure they work, but after the bait monkey got a lot of my money, I have found that the lesser price baits perform just as well if not better. But to answer your question, I would buy an S-Waver 200 in any of the trout patterns before the 2 you mentioned. It just gets bit & it's less than $50.00. Another option that has performed well for me is the big Shine Glide & it's even less $.
  3. Wish they had them in the bigger weights...
  4. I can find the lighter weight ones but the 3/4 and 1 oz are scarce...
  5. Update - against my better judgement, but based on how much I like the 2 rods I have received I ordered a 3rd. TWELVE weeks ago! Nothing but empty responses or mostly no response at all. I finally asked for a refund going on 3 weeks ago. Still nothing. I filed my PayPal claim yesterday. I refuse to continue the use the 2 I have and will be selling them.
  6. I get more hits fishing it like a jig. But when reeling back in to make your next cast, hold on. I think they stalk it, then hammer it when it tries to "get away".
  7. That Dark Sleeper is becoming my favorite bait, which is something considering I usually prefer to throw the big stuff.
  8. Hog Farmer Spunk Shad - it moves in sync with the blade.
  9. I think you may be talking about the height. Yes, it does bulge the lid a bit, but not to where I can't latch it. I thought about just getting one of the deep trays like the Flambeau 9000 series and cutting my own foam. For that matter you could use one of the small plastic totes from Walmart...
  10. It's tight, but fits. I wish they all fit as tight so I don't have to grab the jar while opening.
  11. It's an awesome bait. Absolutely zero hook up problems. He can't keep the shops around Lake Fork stocked!
  12. One of the Your Lake Fork Guide's videos had him touting the Daiwa CC80 to throw the smaller, weightless jerk baits.
  13. Like the bottle says "Open Slowly". Even then, I don't use any brand not in this to catch my fubars!
  14. Natterjack Goliath Frog, 8 inches, 5.5 ozs, uses a 12/0 swimbait hook ? https://www.sixpacktackle.com/product/natterjack-goliath
  15. I use this. I only open the bottles & dip in the tray, so it isolates drips & spills to the container. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-PLANOSTRG.html?from=basres
  16. I have a Spiralite Maverick 8' HF. I use it for swimbaits up to 3.5 oz, it's a great flipping/pitching/punching rod for big jigs/weights and is awesome with A-rigs which is something I would consider for your lake. And it's only $120.00.
  17. I will be also. Hopefully this is a result of the BPT creating opportunities for others.
  18. The intent of my post was that a 20 year old guy with limited sponsorship was able to lead a professional event with inexpensive gear. It was in no way meant to bash those who buy the rods that they want. Sorry it got derailed ?.
  19. 20 year old Bailey Boutries leads the FLW event on Grand Lake as of today. He is sponsored by and is using Profishiency rods. A quick check of their web site lists casting rod prices from $29.99 to $79.99....
  20. THe 7' MH is a fantastic crankbait rod. The parabolic bend designed into the rod for braid use is perfect for CB's and bladed jigs. I have to admit that my PB came on a regular Lightning Rod, 7' MH on Lake Fork in the early 90's. Over the years I have owned or fished with some very nice rods (expensive). I caught more bass on that Lightning Rod than all other rods combined. It even survived many trips to Guerrero back in it's hey day. I say keep them & use them!
  21. I would agree. On my treble hook baits I have a more moderate action. On jig hook baits I use a H Fast.
  22. Exactly what I did to my All Star WR1's. The cork was getting pretty rough. Took about an hour for each rod.

Just order these from Ken at KC Injection Baits. Body color & tail color are made to order. Order with no salt & they will stand up.
  24. Will be there Friday and Saturday!
