drop shot line?
Give PLine CX a try. I've used everything...PLine CX, CXX (currently using), Hybrid UltraSoft, Vanish, Trilene XL and a few others. They all have their pros and cons.

drop shot weights
I don't understand are these things so d**n expensive? It isn't as though the component (swivel) is expensive ($7.25/100 from Stamina Tackle) or they are hard to pour. Yet these things are consistantly just below tungsten weights in pricing.

barry bonds may be cheating...
There is a rule against it. His 'device' has been grandfathered in by MLB.

Hunting
If it swims, I will catch it. If it walks, I will kill it.

TV fishing - BASS vs. FLW
I've complained a lot in the past because ESPN usually delays their tournament coverage for a week or two. Well, that complaining is over as I started DVR'ing FLW tournaments. FSN just showed the FLW Potomac event. A tournament that took place 6/14-6/17. The Detroit River tourney won't be broadcast until the end of August. The Forrest Wood Cup won't be broadcast until the end of September. What is the point in watching the coverage if the tourney took place almost two months ago? You already know who won, etc. I will say that I like the FLW production just a bit better. They do a better job of spending time with each angler rather than ESPN's format of focusing on the eventual winner for the majority of the hour.

98 degrees and no A/C
You know those things on the walls? You know, the clear things that allow you to look outside? I think they're called windows. Just open one on each side of the house and put a fan pulling air into one and a fan blowing out into another.

UMF 07 - BASS vs. FLW
I hate to say it but out of that group my cash would be on Lefebre. Your cash would be safe. Lefebre has been the biggest ***** thus far this season.

080407 Douglas Tourney
I have more respect for Alan than just about anyone in the club. If he had more time to fish, I don't think anyone would beat him.

Not really, as I suspected after my trip down there two weeks ago that the presentation would work. I confirmed it Friday night after trying a couple of other presentations. Wasn't the only thing that worked, as Homer showed. We were fishing the same water, same presentation. I was catching fish, he wasn't. He switched to his usual presentation, started catching fish. They were wanting a very slow presentation Sat. night, at least in our location.

Night fishing and things that go bump in the night
They sound almost exactly like a pterodactyl. Before I started working nights, I had never heard that sound. But we've got several around the plant and the first time I heard that 'call', I d**n near rurt myself.

Shimano Curados, 101 and 201?
That is true.

So what about these ???
I've often thought that musky baits were an untapped bass bait resource.

Gas & Bass
Yep. If the price was around $1.50 a gallon, I'd be making the 200 mile round-trip to Cherokee or Douglas at least twice a week. Now I only go twice a month or so. I did much much more driving when gas was cheaper.

Kicking the habit...
It is day 6 and the cravings are subsiding. I'm still smoking, but not as much (although I did go through a pack on the water last night). Only had 3 since I got off the water at 7AM.

New Triton TR-20X
I fished a Triton for the first time this weekend (TR21). I liked it. It was laid out pretty well. I love the center storage on the front deck. It seems to ride just a bit rougher than my friend's 201XLPro, but not all that much worse.

Club tourney last night on Douglas. 8PM-7AM. Had 7 boats show up, 13 people. My boater and I had fished Friday night, found a few good spots, figured out a good pattern. We blasted off first and had our spot to ourselves despite the four other tournaments going on that night. We got a couple of small fish to start off with (12" minimum length), then went a while without a fish. Then I got into them. 9:30-10, I put three keepers in the boat, the biggest being right at 2 lbs. So I was feeling quite good. Then it went downhill from there. I couldn't buy a bite. From 10-3, I only caught one fish. Had several fish almost to the boat before they pulled off the hook. I think I had 6 or 7 fish get off in that time period. Finally put a decent keeper in the boat just after three, then another dead period. Was talking on the phone around 4:30, hooked a fish, got it to the boat. Net was in the water, ready to swallow the fish when it jumped, threw the hook back into the boat and swam away. I got three more fish over the next two hours, but all were an inch short. Ended up finishing 7th with 6 lbs. (took 11.5 to win). My boater, OTOH, was the exact opposite. He couldn't buy a bit before midnight. After midnight, he couldn't help but catch fish. He ended up with a limit, total weight of 7 lbs. We ended up catching 25-30 fish, 12 keepers. Learned a few things on this one, such as having the same rig tied on two rods so if you break one off you can keep fishing if they are biting. I'm inching ever closer to the top, although it is rough going since some of these guys have been fishing these lakes for longer than I've been alive. That said, I can guarantee you none of them were fishing what I was...

Is high priced rods really worth it??
That's because the Extreme isn't a $100 rod. :-/ WHEN YOUR RIGHT YOUR RIGHT: they are only99.99. I have one myslef last Fathers day they were on sale for 79.99 but a penny is a penny so i guess it is not techniqely a 100.00 rod The Link with the price: http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_59070_100002006_100000000_100002000_100-2-6 : When BPS is selling them for $60 or so, it isn't a bad rod for that price. But at $100? Not only no, but hell no. Not when that same $100 would get you a St Croix Premier.
