  1. Looks like some sort of shad to me although I am no expert on the species.
  2. No pictures of that as I suffer from DGS.
  3. That is two ounces of Matt's bluegill flying. Wife can't take decent still photos for crap, but she does quite well taking action shots of me from the back of the boat.
  4. I got a 3.5 lb. smallie last summer that was very similar in coloration. Came off a shaded bank in about 8' of water. It never lightened, even after being on a stringer for about 30 minutes until I could get to a camera.

Open carry is perfectly legal in VA, resident or non-resident. I OC 80% of the time.

Aye, but there is the other side of the coin to consider. Take Illinois for example. The entire state is controlled by a small portion of the population (Chicago). As an aside, all too often what happens in one state will influence what happens in the other 49. Meaning that if XX state passes a certain law, YY state will pass a similar law. Then take the Full Faith & Credit Clause into account. This tidbit came to the forefront when gay marriage was on everyone's mind. The brouhaha was that if MA legalized gay marriage, then other states would be in a position of recognizing the civil union. Now why that doesn't translate into the ability for me as a VA resident to carry in all 50 states is a question best left to the lawyers. All I know is that I do limit my travels to those states who recognize my rights and allow me to exercise them as I see fit. IL, CA, NY, NJ, MA, MD will never see a penny from my pocket (at least not directly).
  7. Cabelas, BPS, and Tackle Warehouse are part of a large conspiracy to bankrupt me and drive me to divorce.
  8. There is no defined standard for line diameter/test strength. One manufacturer's 6 lb. test might be 0.007" in diameter while another's might be 0.010" in diameter. That is why I buy all of my line based on diameter rather than strength rating.
  9. It was a slow tight wobble. ;D http://www.riteintherain.com/ItemForm.aspx?item=97&Category=a2abe046-e9e6-43b6-98e1-a70ba46a49b4 This was the pen. Just drove 1100 miles to get it. :'(
  10. Looks like I need to start saving for gas to the NRV.
  11. Have a bow, get it out every summer and spend a month shooting in the yard, then once bow season gets here I never have time to get out.
  12. I left a little something on the field for Bob Stoops. ;D

I am torn on this matter. While I would love national reciprocity, I feel quite strongly about the sovereignty of states.
  14. Friday - Pay $9 for a pen. Nice all weather pen that will write upside down, etc. Tuesday - Take said pen and make entry into fishing log. Attempt to place pen and log back into their storage area. Knock pen from notepad in process, causing it to fall into 30' of water. Fall rate of said pen was greater than 1' per second, meaning all I had time to do was sadly watch it sink into the depths. Such is my life...
  15. I bought a few packages when they first showed up at BPS. Haven't had a chance to fish them extensively, but IMO they aren't anything special.
  16. I've yet to find a line that was inherently prone to excessive twist. Which is to say that the line isn't to blame. You're not going to find a line better suited for use on spinning tackle than XL.
  17. Sure you were looking at the SX rather than the S? I find it very hard to believe that the Atlanta BPS had the S priced at $130.
  18. You need a few more batteries Randall. Ever find your net? ;D

As soon as I saw the title, I knew what this thread contained.
  20. Hot up there today Mr Goldberg?
  21. Just needed a dose of Burley-itis to turn the fishing on. :'(
  22. The Fuji S5XXX is a fine camera. All of my photos are taken with an S5000. That said, I'm quite intrigued by the Pentax Optio W10, 20, and 30. All are waterproof to 10'.
  23. That is a scary looking situation. Back in Feb. I was heading to BPS in Sevierville down I-81. Early on a Sunday AM, we had gotten a couple of inches of snow earlier that morning. Roads were fine save for a few snowy patches. Driving along, spot a pickup and a 14' utility trailer off to the side of the westbound lanes. Only thing was that both were facing east with the truck on it's side and the trailer was upright. Everyone was fine, but I wish I would have seen just how they ended up in that position.
  24. A Beretta 92 with a can and dynamite? :-?
