  1. I got a hemorrhoid from pooping over the side of my boat once. I think it was the weird angle.
  2. I use mono for everything until about 8 foot depth. Top waters, flukes, jerk baits, shallow/mid cranks all get mono. Fluoro for drop shots, jigs, spinners, plastics, blade baits etc. All my baitcasters have braid to mono or braid to fluoro. All my spinners have straight mono or straight fluoro. Some of my reels are backed with dacron fly backing.
  3. Anything less than $150, should be a Pflueger. I like the XX30 series. I have ~5 right now. Presidents, President XT (2 of them), Supreme, Supreme XTs, Trion for the wife.
  4. Okuma Guide Select. I've had mine for a short time and I like it so much I throw my A-Rigs on it too.
  5. I used TCW-3 OMC oil for ages. I don't remember where I read it, but it was the most recommended. You can buy 1 gallon for 20 bucks at Wal-mart. 50:1 is your ratio. If I'm lazy, I'll buy the Evinrude 16oz oil (3.XX a bottle) and just fill out at 6 gallons at a time.
  6. So, my day started out with dinks. Lots of those. We stumbled upon a spawning activity I guess. I've never seen fish balled up like this. I really wish I had screen shot my fish finder. There were thousands. Everwhere you looked they were hitting the surface. Catching Air. Not stripe. GAR. We hooked dozens. Landed a few. They were holding on too. Unusual for gar. They will usually get snagged for a bit and I rarely land them. Rarer still is landing more than one in a day, unless you're snagging them or using frayed line to tangle their teeth. I lost count of how many hits I was getting on some casts. It was fun. They really liked my 3/4 Red Eye Shad today.

someone here local makes no weighted plasted swimbait/jig heads that resemble fish. i use them with subwoofers. awesome bait!
  8. an inline fuse holder is like 3 bucks at auto-zone. good for piece of mind!
  9. Dale Hollow is the busiest lake in TN. Fortunately, it's huge.
  10. Well, it put people in my back yard
  11. I fish their Real Trout line: http://www.***.com/Savage_Gear_Real_Trout_Swimbait/descpage-SGRTSB.html their Line Thru Trout line: http://www.***.com/Savage_Gear_Line_Thru_3D_Swimbait_8/descpage-SGLT.html I was lucky enough to win one of their facebook contests for a free big bait tackle bag. I really, really like the Real Trout stuff. They are the best soft swimbait I've fished. Better than Keitechs too. The line thru trout I've not had a chance to fish much. It looks amazing in the water though.
  12. My pedal moves about, I don't have a recessed pan. It's on the right hand side of the boat though.
  13. That's why I stick with over the counter warranties. Shimano and Okuma for me.
  14. I've got ram mounts. I'd personally go with it. You can move it out of the sun much easier. You've got the double articulating Ram mount right?
  15. Don't buy the cranks. The shad and minnows are where it's at.
  16. Sorry for the late reply. Cree is the China Brand on Ebay. They are quality. I can't find the specific lamps I have, I'll keep looking.
  17. Just use plenty of 3M 4200 If you get to the backside of the screws put a dab of 3M on the predrilled hole spots in the back and in the front. Should be water tight
  18. ^^^ What he said. I just replaced an Optima that was probably 7-8 years old with a new Interstate. I'm a fan of Interstate's and Everstart 27s.
  19. I can't get on ebay at work, but I can show you the lights you need. 3-5W with waterproof aluminum housing and mount or grip for about $30.00 each. Wire up inline switch and yoo should be good to go. I've got several of the lights, I just can't link you to them. Crazy bright too. There are some targeted to cavers with a cordered rechargable battery pack (20 hour use) for about $50. They are really nice. As bright as any two car headlamps.
  20. Netbait Craws. Zoom, Netbait, Havoc. Dicks routinely has Flukes for like $2.30. Paca Craws are that price and I can get Subwoofers for $1.99.
  21. I was watching a fishing show this weekend and the guy had a load of sponsers boat wrap and everything. You know what I saw him throwing? Bass Pro Pro Qualifiers.
  22. Pflueger all the way. In fact unless you're going to spend over $150 on a spinning reel, you should buy Pfluegers.
  23. At the trolling motor too right? Get a 5 or 7 series Humminbird.
  24. Honestly, I don't know the lake well enough. I mainly fish the Hiwassee from Charleston to the main channel. I've not fished much from the dam to that point. I know people like fishing grass, riprap dam side and docks.
