My rods and reels stay in my truck during the summer. I have a rod sleeve on each rod. Been doing it this way for several years and have had no issues with my line. I use mono, floro and braid.

I have 5 Carbonlite 2.0 rods that I have used regularly (3 to 4 days a week) for the past 4 years. They've been a great rod. I have had zero issues with any of them. I have 2 Carbonlite 2.0 reels and 1 PQ2. Same story with those, no issues at all. The only reason that I don't have more of them is, I prefer Shimano and Lew's for my reels. SLX DC, SLX and Lew’s Speed Spool KVD are my main reels. I can’t comment on the cranking rod as I don’t own one.

The only problem with trying to fish one is you have to throw with a pistol grip rod! ?

Berkley Power Bait products have worked well for me over the years. On non power bait products I use Megastrike on them. I don’t really care what the nay sayers, say or think, for me the proof is in the pudding.

Just got to see the live stream of the Championship day. Pretty good day of fishing! Ott really put on a show! Never say die, Bobby Lane made a nice couple of catches at the end to take second! Good stuff!

If I’m fishing mono, I always use the Trilene knot. If I’m using braid or floro then I’m using the Palomar knot. KISS for me.

I tend to abuse my frogging setup. I’m using a Bass Pro, Pro Qualifier 2, 7.2:1 reel on a Berkley Lightening Rod Shock 7’ MH rod. It’s going on it’s 5th season and still going strong!

Why buy a cheap knockoff? I’m all for being frugal but, not at the expense of rewarding those who produce cheap ripoffs. JMHO!

What bait is that?

I’ve had severe allergies my whole life. I take AllerClear (generic Claritin) and Flonase. Adding the Flonase 2 years ago changed my life! That stuff is the bomb!
