  1. Academy sports and TW will probably have the curado G for $75-80, and the citica G for $55-65 (if there is going to be a new citica).
  2. 12 # YZH, curado, cheapy (but nice) academy ethos 7 MH
  3. IMO, very cheapy and ugly looking.. Could be great reels though. I personally am going to go for the new curado and tatula's.
  4. It will probably be 199.99 core will probably get an update. I am guessing SVS infinity and x-ship.. That is exactly what is going to happen I think. The chronarch E is priced at $199 and it doesn't quite enroach the ci4+ market.. The new curado is likely going to be priced at 199 as well, so I don't think it will be a problem.. If the curado was priced lower than $199, no one would buy the Ci4+ because the curado would be so much cheaper. Yeah, it's that good. That is purely personal opinion.. I can't say anymore or I will get myself into trouble! LOL
  5. Exactly this ^. Expect to see the quality and solidity of the D series. To get the quality you are looking for, you have to pay a bit more. It isn't a guess really.. Multiple sources have told me the pricing will be at least $199. You will get MUCH more out of your two bills with a new curado compared to the chronarch E. I promise.
  6. The curado G might be on clearance for around $75. TW usually does 50% off sales during the holidays or some other sales event on reels they are trying to "move". I would expect 50% at Academy sports as well.. Remember when they sold Daiwa zillion type R's for $199??
  7. New curado will not be under $199... Sorry to ruin the party.
  8. I never understood why people would use 50lb braid, then 20lb fluoro leader.. Why not just use 20 or 30 lb braid and 20 leader? You will not lose any strength compared to 50 braid. You will gain casting distance, and overall casting ease. Also, your line is only as strong as your weakest link, which is the knot. Most line to leader knots have a knot strength of 10-20 lbs, and most leader/line to hook/lure knots are about the same.
  9. It is not the same platform as the antares.. I think you will REALLY like this reel. It has all the fancy things you were hoping for.. That's all for now.
  10. Tuf line is better than PP imo. I had fraying problems with PP a lot.
  11. You all have already seen the what the new curado looks like, you just don't know it. I have heard from multiple sources that it looks exactly like a certain reel presently made.
  12. Nanofil looks and feels like dental floss. Frays very easily too.
  13. Boat had a crack down the side of the hull and we about sunk.. Still haven't got out to the lake and it's been I believe a year and a half now.
  14. You have already seen it before, you just don't know it.. New citica is a mystery right now, but bantam says there will be MULTIPLE releases this classic show... Maybe there will be.
  15. camo and also low vis green
  16. Is there anything bad about using say Penn's grease on everything? I use it on gears, drag, worm gear. Is it just not the best route for lubing the drag stack?
  17. Daiwa "engineers" them for Cabela's.. So pretty much Daiwa makes them for Cabela's.
  18. Sufix 832 30lb or 40lb is great. I would go with 30lb since it is more castable and you will be able to fit more line on.
  19. Tufline xp has been a different story though. A completely different story. I really like that stuff.
  20. I have the 15# supercast, and it is the worst braid I have ever used on a spinning reel. Horrible line twist, horrible casting distance, horrible sensitivity. Atleast it is strong. By the way, this is on a 2500 sized mid-priced shimano spinning reel.
  21. New curado definitely will live up to hype... There's no question about it.
  22. There are so many spinning reels out there that this question is just not possible to be answered.. There is no BEST spinning reel, just like there is no best rod or line. It is all opinions. I personally would go for a shimano sahara FD which can be had for around $50, with some 6lb YZH, and a Med or Med light spinning rod.. EDIT: The Sahara FD is NOT the best! It is merely a good option, and can be had for a good price.
  23. What's the only word in the entire english language always spelled wrong? wrong
  24. It may seem complicated, but taking off the handle sideplate is extremely easy. Nothing pops out, or goes flying. Just take the pieces of the handle and drag assembly off in order and lay the out flat in a line on a towel or something else layed down on a flat surface. Then unscrew the sideplate screws, and carefully lift. If you keep the reel sitting so that the handle side is facing up, nothing will come off. I would say give it a try; you may find it very easy to do.
