I'm surprised the alternator isn't covered under warranty. To answer your question, if you can afford to switch brands, I'd go Toyota. I've driven Japanese cars/trucks since 1991, logged 700,000+ miles between them all and here's my list of repairs: Power steering rack on 1991 Nissan Sentra SE-R, covered under warranty. Defective frame on my 1999 Toyota Tacoma. Toyota paid me $12,900 to take the truck. Trailer brake controller in my current 2017 Toyota Tundra, covered under warranty. I've worked on almost every brand out there since the late 1980's. Good luck with your car.

I was recently looking at the small TW warehouse I’ve collected over the last dozen years trying to pack for a day on my kayak. In an attempt to simplify my tackle and thought of @Swamp Girl’s posts telling of her simple canoe & rigs. I’ve decided to take ONE rod with ONE lure out for the next dozen trips and see what happens. I challenge the membership to do the same and report back here. The lure is up to you. I’m challenging myself and picking one lure that’s either very ‘old school’ or way out of my comfort zone. I’ll post that lure before my first trip (I’m currently on a cruise ship in Alaska). GEEEZ ... the title said HORSEPOWER ... I thought I clicked on my Buick forum ... To answer .... NO, there's never enough horsepower and yes, ten pound braid with eight pound leader is enough to set the hook in your situation. OK, back to fishing.

Had a decent trip to Plymouth this morning. Four SMB, one white perch, and one LMB made it to the kayak. Everyone was caught with an emerald green Rapala PXR jerkbait. Three of four SMB were a touch over two pounds and Larry weighed in at 3_4. Water temps were 62.x when I launched and 66.x when I left. Winds were light to moderate. Air pressure was 30.3.

I have to keep the Bait Monkey away for a while. I just ordered replacement top & window weather stripping for my '68 Buick GS convertible.

Nope, I don't bother with that stuff. It's the 'tick' and 'pull' I go for. I get my catches back in the water as quickly as I can.

I always wear mine. I like the pockets for extra 'stuff' and it keeps my wife happy that I wear it.... I've never had any interest in auto/manual inflators.

Fished my 'home' pond yesterday afternoon. One LMB & one pick, both around 2#, made it to the kayak. Lost three on a bladed jig. Weather was same as the morning. Water temps were 58.x.

Took a short trip to Plymouth this morning, launching at first light. It was a perfect topwater morning, so I started with a bone Zara Spook. I hooked up & unhooked with two nice SMB in short order. Shortly after I got a hit & miss from a LMB. Luckily it came back for a second try. It weighed 4_0 and was 21" long. I had a couple more SMB hit & misses, and that was it. That was it. Water temps were 59.x - 60.x. Air pressure was 30. Winds were near calm at launch but picked up to 10+ by 0900. I might get out again this afternoon. It'll be a game time decision. Never had a Suzi boat motor. I owned two Suzuki sport bikes and if their marine stuff is anything like their bikes, they must be good. I had one bike for 20 years and never had any problems. It ran as strong as new when I sold it.

Looks like we have to put out the Smallmouth help flag out so @Saltysmalljaws sees it. He's an islander and a stick when it comes to Cape SMB. I do OK on my kayak down there, I stick to fluorocarbon line and 'match the hatch' baits. Keep a Ned or small swimbait handy. Most of the ponds down there have little structure, so finding smallies requires a 'run & gun' mentality. Oh yeah, keep a jerkbait tied on too. If you fish Cape waters that have herring runs, go somewhere else this time of year. There's so much food for them, it doesn't matter what you throw, they're not biting. That's my experience, anyway.
