  1. Nice review Matt. It's still ugly.
  2. When bass are choking lipless cranks, it's hard not to nick something. A quick release in cold water usually stops the bleeding and they're fine.
  3. Yeah, no ones bashing. I'm sorry that the Quantum reels I've used don't live up to the standards I've set compared to other reels in the price range.
  4. Not crazy about the reels. The market is so bloated with quality reels between $100 and $200, not including secondary market options (discontinued Zillions for $180? Shwing!). I just don't think the Smokes stand up,
  5. I hate the TWS but I love the T3's. Maybe I'm just weird.
  6. Probably Megabass, Duo, and Lucky Craft, with an honorable mention for the Rapala Shallow Shad Rap.
  7. Maybe it's time to try and love Yo Zuri Hybrid again.
  8. Stretch varies from line to line. You can't lump fluoro, nylon monofilament, and copolymer in to three groups and call it a day.
  9. I don't always throw a spinnerbait, but when I do, I prefer Siebert Compact spinnerbaits.
  10. If you go to college, someday someone will pay you to make collages.
  11. The Arashi Wake is on my short list.
  12. Your favorite soft plastic paddletail. I like a Keitech SI Fat or a Missile Baits Shockwave. Use the smallest weighted swimbait hook that you can get away with. Owner Twistlock Lights are fantastic but be careful about blunting the hook points with heavy braid. White or some sort of Bluegill Flash pattern (Candygill Shockwaves kill 'em) are my preferences.
  13. I'll throw Shallow Shad Raps and a variety of lipless cranks, ranging anywhere from an original Rat-L-Trap to a Megabass Vibration X. Free tip of the day: a 1/4 oz Rat-L-Trap is a killer in shallow grass.
  14. Owner, but the price of the VMC makes me want to switch.
  15. If it has to be white and under $130, shop around for a gently used Shimano Chronarch 50 or 200E.
  16. Overcast, but that's just my preference. I'll throw them as long as there is wind.
  17. Wind is a necessity (to me). Overcast means flashy gold, clear or partly cloudy is a sexy shad or gill pattern.
  18. They said there would be shipping delays. I sprung for 2-day air and it got here, but the ground shipping is a bit backed up from what I understand.
  19. I used to fish the city pond in a somewhat "affluent" neighborhood. The conversations were pretty good. One time I hit a jogger with a pounder that flew over my head after a Bill Dance hookset. Pleasantries were exchanged and I, uh, did not get her number.
  20. I haven't fished one yet, but it will probably be my next rod unless I stone up for a Mephisto or something stupid. I'm going off second-hand info, but I'll be purchasing it for the exact techniques you plan on using it for and the consensus is that it is "perfect".
  21. It is worth picking up if it is in fair shape. There is still plenty of demand for Sols.
  22. I would go with the Perfect Pitch.
  23. Now you have to buy another reel to get the blue shirt!
  24. Bugs the hell out of me too. Pass the meds.
