  1. WRB, Ive always wondered wats the length of that replica fish you are holding in your caption picture?
  2. of course joe shmoe w/ a spinnerbait vs KVD/Clunn/Houston aint the same in many respects its the man behind the weapon Getting good and isolating a lure practice always a good idea but some lures arent that comprehensive imo a spinnerbait is in fact Ive caught spinnerbait fish all year round (I dont count winter sorry) and yes in clearwater Ive several spinnerbaits I use in clearwater and they are as effective as my plastics in clearwater I just let the fish tell me in clearwater situations which they prefer on that day you aint going wrong with spinnerbaits I've posted some 20+" fish on the forum which absolutely crushed my spinnerbaits one having snapped one in 2 pieces fish CRUSH spinnerbaits
  3. I do mods but theyre adjustments theres already so many varieties of tried and true lure categories out there most of them VERY effective under certain circumstances the fish dont have a chance so dont really need to get too crazy a spinnerbait to me looks crazy.. yet it catches fish.. why mess with it
  4. similar but not exactly springs draw is the spawn falls draw is the baitfish and fattening up for winter the baitfish isnt going to pin them into the coves like spring does and many times different baitfish wont be in the creeks and shallows the fish stay more scattered and unpredicatable in fall at least imo
  5. Myself.. self-taught and unconventional at times but read ALOT Jimmy Houston Outdoors (back in the day), Rick Clunn, KVD then spent lotsa of time on the water thinkin this and thinkin that noticing this and that and some plain luck sometimes doin the right thing at the right time but noticing it and learning from it always willin to try new things.. like years ago gettin into bigger swimbaits etc
  6. Bonus pic.. this bluegill this morning obviously has an inflated self-image.. dunno what he wat thinkin' Oh forgot.. fish DONT THINK
  7. Nah I ripped it outta his mouth and put it out.. said that stuff aint good for ya!
  8. Jr jumped too but I was able to keep him from throwin the big bait.. thats the problem with big baits .. they can get thrown.. had that happen more than a couple of times..gotta keep the tight lines and cross yer fingers when they jump and shake
  9. Well almost.. 4 and a half pound 20" donkey kong jr.. he needs food ..badly.. at this time of year he should be heading over 5 The weathers getting cold and I broke out my bigger baits for this season. Donkey Kong (its bigger brother) nailed my 8" swimbait previously and based on the pressure on my swimbait rod it was bigger than this one but the bigger brother was able to use the weight of my swimbait to toss the lure.. kudos to that guy but I wouldve liked very much to land him. However, minutes later felt a light thump and fish on.. as you can see fellow Joisee fishermen, our bass will inhale bigger swimbaits as well as this near 8" bait is barely peeking out of its mouth having inhaled all of it..
  10. Rainin this evening means fish now prefrontal nailed me some fish biggest a 20" this morning fishin pre so rain is good my friends
  11. Well thanks guys gonna hafta try that cause fluke season is here and more the merrier I suppose
  12. You dont even have to be that accurate if you have an aggressively hungry fish It will race to investigate any splashdowns from 10 feet + away and youd be surprised how fast
  13. I'm not on the west coast and I love throwin big baits on my Phenix swimbait rod service is great too!
  14. Well for the bait and bucket crowd it is perfect..
  15. That's a shame.. Feel Yer pain.. I know I'd feel awful if someone took away my favorite fishing hole
  16. You may wanna check the line thrus dissection.. Tats a $20 bait balanced fairly well yer mess with..
  17. How's that fish BTW..flukes usually jerk side to side.. wouldn't two kinda interfere with each other? Gonna try this either way..
  18. Also light conditions assoc with the weather and time of day..here's different types of cloudiness etc
  19. sharing is caring but too many folks like to eat fish fry or hang it on the wall.. Carin for the fish sometimes means hush hush
  20. First lure you lose on it may change your mind.. I'd save up alil for Tatsu and use the 25# as leader.. its fluoro and I dont find 25# to be all that .. many times Ill go to 50# mono as a leader.. but I throw bigger baits..
  21. Welds, Its a line thru so changing the hook is gonna make it more top heavy if anything else You can try to rig a bottom hook maybe but even a bottom hook I feel may be too light to make the floater sink AND the way you wanna fish you may not want a bottom treble You may have to use either nail weights Or rig a bottom treble weighted at its shank. OR fish this lure on a heavy carolina style rig which will get the lure as a rig into the subsurface of the water column this is the way I do it personally I like the floater cause you can fish it topwater and rig it to go sub
  22. thats a nice weight for 20" and change.. thats a fat fish
  23. I hope its hype cause if its legit were in a heap o trouble ..and car accidents arent contagious.. but ebola is extremely
