  1. Ya Im assuming its filled with tackle took someone alot of time and money to fill that treasure chest sure it hurt to have lost it..
  2. we're in the same area the fish were also a bit post frontal they wouldnt be aggressively going after frogs or buzzes your jig was the right move I got some slow rolling a spinnerbait the other day.. they were even short-biting plastics..they were not very committed I agree fall is the least productive of the 3 seasons where we are but its too early to hang up the fishing gear for the year tho
  3. Not sure why it'd take a while to gain confidence.. fish slam swimbaits .. couldnt imagine fishing without one somewhere within reach Have you ever tried the 5.8 Impact Fat? Thinking about getting one and trying it out end of season.. I got the 3.8 but its too d**n small ..
  4. They do fill up abit faster but the fish love em here. When they fill up I swim them just subsurface before I squeeze them out.. Oh and superglue the d**n legs before you even think about casting
  5. spinnerbaits are generally fairly durable I like the lighter wire frames so high durability I pretty much gave up on.. but I've only had 2 snapped this year and both on the same day strangely but also both were used for over a year last season as well
  6. Where did you get your armor piercers?
  7. Theyre good but theyre not a miracle lure.. great action tho but even so sometimes fish dont want THAT I fish it slow on a weighted belly screw hook I took the swing impact fat out with me today and it got outfished side by side on two outfits by my spinnerbait It did better alil better in summer..
  8. 20 acres? you should be able to rip a cast to any part of that lake from the shorelines with waders on
  9. Top and mid-depth for me I have a few jig fish but I aim to get better at the jig for more bottom fish..
  10. Went thru that exercise a while ago.. uni to uni is the way and has never failed me yet
  11. boostr, round valley is clear, deep and full of trout.. I cant imagine there is NOT a state record bass in there..
  12. I went out on that post frontal over the weekend and caught four on spinnerbait.. nothing over 15" but they wanted spinners
  13. Thats thinkin like a tournament angler! August was good .. caught a 20" fish every week.. biggest was a 22" 6 pounder some dudes wanted to keep..not! So far in September I've caught two.. one was a 21" I posted on the forum.. People dont think theres big fish in the waters in NJ.. many anglers dont even know but there is.. heres more evidence from a waterway I frequent: http://www.stripersonline.com/t/808531/i-think-i-just-released-the-state-record-largemouth-bass
  14. Heh either way I'm sure its a good honey hole as you say but 80 secs a fish.. abit hard to believe and in a small crowded-in pond like that?
  15. Or the spinnerbait could have been straight running but got readjusted when in its mouth and when you set the hook it caught the lower lip You never kno
  16. a lunker is relative some think its a big fish.. some think its the biggest of the big all of this is then also obscured by "poundage" theres a difference between big and fat for example, in Cali, Florida, and Texas they can catch 24" bass weighing 15 pounds a 24" bass where I'm sitting would likely only come in at around 8 depending on the season but in my opinion it dont make it any less BIG
  17. How can you even catch 90 bass in 120 minutes? That gives you like 80 seconds to cast, reel in, handle, and release each fish
  18. I would tend to think Impact Fats would be more effective when the bass could actually see their awesome action If they cant, it negates one of their best attributes for usage. I got better baits for water displacement..
  19. I wouldnt go poundage, I'd say anything 19-20"-ish+ We are talking fish who can easily take out younger bass and btw that cyprus swamp you fishin', I could throw cigar topwaters all day for some monsters
  20. Good observations in general but lets keep in mind these are on aquarium fishes which most likely tend to be ambush predators rather than school predators I have also noted they strongly prefer live food as well but hatcheries already know this as they know its difficult but not impossible to train lmb to eat pellet foods. Thanks for sharing
  21. Looks like a good lookin' 5 pounder to me.. .. but the quest is never over ..cause the quest is to catch fish The guy from Bigmouth said it best.. hes excited everytime he catches a fish.. and I feel the same way CONGRATS whats the length on that one?
  22. Well dont be afraid to change it up cause if somethings not workin its just a waste of time to keep repeatin it ie.. if they are not hookin up on lightning hooksets then wait a few seconds and feel for the weight on days where you are losing them on a pressure-feel hookset, set immediately but like I said the bigger worms usually need some patience for the fish to gulp them down
  23. The guys from Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine seem to be catchin some lunkers.. check out this thread.. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/142640-who-wants-in-august-5-fish-by-length/
