  1. Heart goes out to ya there.. that heart sinking into yer stomach feelin ..but that line might have broken anyway I bet you gonna upsize yer equipment after this.. I tell ya I've lost big ones every which way possible: just enough slack line to get off line break shook lure shook lure at the boat just about to be landed in my grip shook off into the drink swivel failure ultralight rod breakage What hasnt happened .. yet (my biggest nightmare): catch exceeding my pB in my grip when an even bigger one jumps up and swallows it whole and both go diving into the drink that would pretty much complete my list you got my sympathies my man..
  2. Ya I wouldnt lay low but I wouldnt ruffle feathers neither I'd just put forth the rational suggestion informally like you did and if it dont make sense to em.. well then you just dont get to use yer 25% employee discount on that gear that you REALLY want
  3. ya you just slap some together and hit the water the bass will tell ya if they like the purty ones or the butt ugly ones I throw whatever the bass say they like .. even tho I like the purdy ones.. they may just sit lookin purdy
  4. Dunno about Georgia but 6lb+ fish up north here are essentially trophies and behave alil differently running north of 22" These guys have it spot on.. location, time, and slow presentation And lure size is and isnt important.. I caught my 5's and 6's on above-average size lures not the supersized ones they sell us from California I'm really about length than weight.. but if yer after a fat fish then beef-up time in late fall and early spring are when yer more likely to catch yer fat fish from a weight scale POV
  5. I LOVE my LEATHERMAN! I always go light and my multitool lets me do just that!
  6. yea but their schedule is usually suspect.. here if they go undefeated they have LSU under their belt for a respectable showing in the rankings there are great teams in the othe conferences but the SEC is stacked in terms of great coaches and talent.. cant lose to SEC if you want a shot at the national championship
  7. The only one I am impressed with beyond other comparables is the Rage Craw's action so far I will be workin the Rage Toad this weekend to see if has any merit.. it seems to me to be a plastic buzzbait
  8. Wisconsin is likely gonna be 0-1 to start..once again Big10 gets taken to school by SEC Wisconsin is a great running program but the problem is SEC west is used to great running and they just aint gonna be too impressed with Wisconsin If they want to make the playoff this game needs to be won.. its already a make or break for.. game 1
  9. i dont think ohio state will ever be "in the toilet" they have too much talent Eyes on coach's first year at Penn State with a talented QB SEC is stacked! FSU isnt gettin by SEC this year One to watch is South Carolina.. offense should be great.. defense ..meh Georgia can still run the ball all day long theyll be fine Bama and Aubum's duel will be fun to watch.. add in LSU as a threesome this years the year of the NCAAF playoff!
  10. spinnerbait jig small rapala all should last a while.. the plastics catch fish but are disposable and may be gone shortly the rapala will catch almost anything including enough panfish to eat like a king..while survivin'
  11. self-control.. the fishing industry is banking on that none of us have any I thought I had alot of gear but I have nothin' compared to most of u and most of you have myriads of expensive rods and probably hundreds of lures.. kudos if you can afford them all and the 10 variations of the same crankbait etc I just dont find you need to spend all that much $$$ to catch a fish
  12. thumbs down on live.. I'd go with powerfishing plastics as a quicker way to haul in bass I too only fish 2-3 hrs at a time mostly from shore and I dont have time to wait for bobbers and sinkers to catch sunfish and catfish Im assuming you mean fish as in bass.. if yer going after sunnies and crappy I'd still go with a small rapala or bitsy minnow if you find a crappy school.. its game on for the numbers game

  14. til Thanksgiving
  15. I wouldnt put those plastics away and definitely the spinnerbait but try all different sizes
  16. Its not an explicit question I ask myself but one can feel if one is progressing and increasing yields year over year or whichever goal target one chooses.. at some point there has to be a threshhold where your progression slows or toplines It sounds like what you generally do remains fairly static systemically day-to-day, season-to-season, year to year the conditions change and there are myriads of factors at play the question is how well your system and more importantly YOU are adapting to this flux of conditions if not so well, your system needs to change
  17. So strange this year has been.. Late spring and now an early fall Gotta watch those water temps
  18. I've not tried but can the rage craw buzz the top like the rage toad does? I've heard the rage toad sinks..does it?
  19. I just use hip waders boot style .. Easy to clean and no need for a separate shoe which gets stinky and hard to clean. Hip style gets me deep enough with clearance..any deeper than that and Yer elbows will be soaking in lake water If you are considering chest waders I'd just go the next step and buy a tube as well
  20. isnt a grouper kinda in the bass family? thats a BIG fish
  21. I just got the ragetail and boy the action is great.. only thing it caught was a big bullhead catfish but it did it in mid afternoon the toughest bite of the day. I love versatile baits and I can tell this one is with the many ways I could imagine this being used.. lookin forward to kickin some bASS with this.. NICE BAIT
  22. Anone else noticing weedlines receding already? Its two months too early! Whats going on? Mild summer?
  23. spinnerbait then plastics
  24. KVD and Rick Clunn.. I'd be askin them questions the whole time askin them why they doing this why that whiy this why that
