  1. I got long needlenoses and they usually sove the problems but when I had unusual problematic hookups and it took too long, many times I'll put it back in the water to revive ill take a breather and then Ill try it again
  2. I dont catch the biggest bass during summer but there sure is no drought of catching fish.. I catch more in summer just not quite as big as spring I broke out my canoe today for the first boat fishing this year and the fish wouldnt quit biting all day over 20 fish today but biggest was a 17.5" tho
  3. I honestly think anyone kayaking at night has to be nuts flipping a kayak at night is no fun at all and theres noone around to see you and help
  4. heads witht the eye at the tip like a bullet head come thru weeds like hydrilla well with a weedguard nothing stops the fine hair-thin weeds or algae unfortunately its summer and the bass are in it.. so u need to as well
  5. I think you will find that over time you will get worms, spinnerbaits, jigs as #1 and #2 #3 crankbaits jerkbaits arent far behind but are more situational
  6. I dont know if its the exact same fish but some fish I missed but did not get a hookset on I've tossed back in the same area and gotten. If I got a hook into them and they spit it, I've had little success in getting successive strikes in the same area. I'd say based on my experience alone, I'd say if a fish was getting pulled in via hook, its spooked. If it just had it in its mouth and was pulled out w/o a hookset, it may or may not get spooked. Either way I usually toss back hoping a school is there.
  7. I use swivels.. no line twist problems for me
  8. There are days when I catch lots and the urge to fish dwindles but tell ya what a few hours after I get home.. I'm wantin to fish again!
  9. not necessarily means big fish only eat big bait.. they eat big and medium and littel at times but big lures are like a filter.. they filter out most smaller fish in my experience, when I go after big fish with big lures I get only a couple of bites an outing and risk getting skunked but catch bigger fish I made my peace with that and realized I'm not out here to not catch fish so I only whip out the bigger lures when I've already caught enuf to be satisfied and am ok w/catchin nothing else for the rest of the day.. and I still catch the spectrum its just that the bigger fish are far fewer and usually in the spring and late fall know what I realized.. I just like catchin fish.. dont care how big! My big lures usually stay put nowadays..
  10. I could be incorrect but it looked like a spot and Ive caught spots.. so thats a wrong statement
  11. spinnerbaits really come alive in the fall
  12. 7'6" flipping stick (preferably telescopic) casts a mile and has the backbone to pull out of weeds. Put whatever reel u want on it dont matter 20-30lb braid with fluoro leader covers alot of bases
  13. Love flouro Finesse and open water situations only 4 me Around cover and rocks I aint takin a chance losing an expensive lure.. its brittle and some manufacturers are more brittle than others
  14. Could be several things: 1) check yer guides may be tearing up your braid 2) your knot was slipping 3) your hookset was too hard 4) combo of #2, #3 Fact you put fluoro on and fixed the prob tells me maybe it was #3 I had this problem years ago but the problem eventually went from that to the knot connecting fluoro to the braid being alil too weak.. watch that
  15. What do you consider an advanced technique? All techniques are fairly simple and have a time and place.. from the bank you can do alot but you may need to adjust some technique a bit.. others you may not be able to do. I bank fish but have a boat and wont break it out until the weeds have choked the shorelines.. but until then much of the techniques are available to me even from the bank.
  16. Over 200 fish and still tallying
  17. Worms of various sizes catch just about anything listed
  18. I never lost a fish grabbing the line not sure how it would matter if its heavy or not.
  19. Dang it theyre not on sale in my area! Otherwise its a good buy esp w/ the warranty!
  20. I cant remember the last time I was skunked I think it was sometime last year and certainly not this year and not this summer. If you get skunked, let it motivate you to take your fishing to another level
  21. spinnerbait by a mile
  22. I catch fish spring, summer, fall.. and if I wanted to ice fish Im sure I could figure them out then too. If you fish the same way all the time then yes one season will be your season and or one situation will be your situation and you'll catch em then but then things change you catch nothing..but if you roll and adjust, it doesnt matter the season. So far this Summer since the beginning of June I've caught over 100 fish easily.
  23. Title sounded like a new Stephen King novel.. but glad it turned out great!
  24. I'm really startin to love the Booyah Real Gill Spinnerbaits too.. they look sick ..but in all reality, the bomber spinnerbaits at Walmart for $1.50 has caught as much fish as these SICK booyahs I just throw em cause they look so d**n good
