I went out this morning and nailed over 10 fish 2 of which were 18" and the action didnt stop til I decided to leave.. I missed alot of fish as well they were having trouble locating the bait or spitting quickly. I think your mistake was putting away the spinnerbait. Had you moved to similar locations on the lake, they would have likley continued to nail your spinner.

Frontal fishing is one of the best.. but I dont do it during lightning

Guess everyones different but I mark front coming in.. Ill fish clear blue skies as well but I like unsettling weather. I fished yesterday afternoon post frontal and landed over 10 fish in a few hours. Learn to fish in and love all conditions and you'll be much happier when fishing.

Yer not supposed to use yer rod like a crane For a big fish, I'd grab the line and pull it up

I'm old school and with Maxximus.. I only worry about the action, the backbone, and the length and whether its glass or graphite and I dont get hung up on brands like todays silver spoon crowd .. a rod is a tool and if I can use it as well across techniques I certainly will.

I recently caught a 16" 3.5lb bullhead catfish on a .. huddleston shad. Catfish are like any other fish and can be aggressive but they generally dont swim that fast. Try working your lure alil faster and off the bottom.

Look you are beating the banks so the easiest way to find the bass is to find the most extensive weeds. There you can fish topwater all day long if you want.

I concur, stick to the weeds and lily pads shallow.. you cant reach the deep anyhow in most places. Definitely scout out the lake via topo map and local reports.. dont waste your time.
