Plenty of flanges around now, too. Just off top of my head, Fuzzy Beaver, Bandits Bug, and Bizz craws all have flanges. I have no clue whether the flange was liscensed or the other companies are pushing the patent design challenge limits

Swells are strategic and waves are tactical. Swells involve much greater volume and area of water, typically; and take a long time to get disrupted by wind and weather. Waves are more localized, pop up and disappear quickly and more directly affected by surface wind (and wakes and current to an extent) I've been at sea in 15-20 foot swells, without much in the way of discernable waves. Big swells with confused waves can be a nightmare to safely navigate in any boat

1. If it doesn't affect population, why do you want to regulate? 2. I cannot imagine either suggestion being reasonable, nor viable. Exact spawning times vary dramatically even within same body of water. Some waters have more than one spawning in a year. As to sight fishing, not much sense in legislating something that would be impossible to enforce. @Swinghead, there are a surprising number of studies readily available on the interwebs. I haven't read them all, but I've read enough to be convinced that the answer to your question is 'no'.

I won't restrict myself to 6, but I am surprised that there aren't any Rage Bugs listed. I would not be surprised if 1/3 of all my casts and pitches last year were with a Rage Bug.

I certainly get it. I take 8 and every time out I find myself standing at the back of my truck struggling to decide which rods I'm going to have to leave behind. I don't always use all 8, but it is a rare trip when I haven't used 7

I didn't write that too clearly. You can see one triple on the back of the crate. There's an identical 3-rod holder attached to the front of the crate

Ignore the haters....or troll 'em. I love the reutilization. I have a Champion Extreme that has been looking for perfect use for a couple years. I throw spinnerbaits on it now and while it seems like a bit of a waste sometimes, it is getting good use now.

I don't think that I have ever once even looked at the line ratings on a rod.

Been out 3 times last couple weeks working on it. Cannot get the deep winter bite figured out. Tried jigging spoons, flutter spoons and tail spinners.....blade baits, lipless, deep cranks and slow rolling spinnerbaits. Have gotten a few jig bites in the wood from 4-10 FOW, but would really love to get on those deep ones.

How would you approach this? Mid January. Surface temp 36. Negligible current. Water visibility approx 15". Stable weather; daytime highs low 40s, partly cloudy; overnight lows around freezing. Primary forage is threadfin shad. Some isolated standing stumps around 25 FOW, most topping out around 17'. Sonar indicates very strong 'life zone' from 16-20 foot. Some large returns below the band of bait, but when in 20 FOW, the returns are indistinct...very hard to discern large fish in that 'life zone". Few larger fish marked above 15'. Shore line has good amount of laydowns. What's your plan of attack?

Somebody posted a link to a detailed study, I think in Oklahoma, of tagged tournament fish. Pretty fascinating.....some fish stayed close to weigh in ramp....some returned to area not far from where they were caught, some traveled many miles...like more than 10?...in relatively few short weeks, IIRC. As for fishing bedding fish, I don't do it for a couple reasons, but not because I think it is hurting the hatch
