I do too...or I did....maybe still do....I was watching 2019 BASS show yesterday....the 2019 AOY (Canterbury?) had no wins and only four top 5's in dozens of tournaments. Seemed almost like at least one win should be an AOY qualifying requirement

I pedal a 180 Hobie Compass. I was offered a great deal on a Torqeedo last year and ultimately turned it down. (I would have stern-mounted and kept fins.) Probably the single biggest reason was that I car top my yak and a trailer isn't a good option for me at this time, so that won't be same factor for you. Some of the other 'cons' that led to my decision: - Battery cost, weight, charging - I fish a lot of very skinny water and while I can feather my fins, I worried about damaging a motor If choosing between pedals and motor now, I'd probably choose pedals. I see a lot of guys with motors needing to paddle a fair amount for small maneuvers while fishing. I have used my paddle twice that I can remember in the last two years. That hands free freedom has become very important to me. I covered 8 miles over 10 hours on a windy day a couple weeks ago. I would be surprised if most motor guys (and gals) would have not been paddling by end of the day.

I thought the same. Seems that makers have found a way around it....or skirting the law....or made as little a difference that they can get away with. Seeing more and more 'flanges' lately

Thanks for the report, Nitro! I plan to get there this spring with the kayak. I have been looking for Shenandoah stretches where I don't need to do a float. Egypt Bend and Riverton seem to be the best bets. I am happy to see your posts lately. Hope all is well with you and your family.

For 5" on underspins, I mostly use Reins Rock Vibe Shad. Per bait cost is even higher, but they I usually get at least a half dozen fish out of each.

I take coffee, two water bottles and two granola bars. I usually come in with one bottle of water (none if it's hot out) and two granola bars. Never think about eating on the water, even during 10-11 hour days.

Never broke one with a fish....while in a boat. I did, however, break one on a large cat that dove under my kayak. Admittedly my fault....but the dynamics change in a kayak

The only time a pro's opinion on sponsored gear registers at all with me, is when they can go into detail about design aspects that they specifically requested or imagined...and why. I would, however, be interested in hearing an honest discussion about why a pro has switched sponsors. Often, I imagine, it has to be strictly financial contract details. If so, fine, but I'd be curious to hear him or her say that. If a pro jumps ship primarily for performance, I'd like to hear about that, too; especially if they could talk through honest comparison....without bashing, of course.

After 27 years in the Navy, I will drink the cheapest, thickest, day-old, bottom of the pot sludge available. Maxwell House or Folgers, usually...whichever is cheapest.

I always had gray. Last year I got new glasses in amber. Wish that I'd gotten gray. Most of the time I don't notice. The once in a while that I think about it....I wish I'd stuck with gray.

I use light braid to leader and the single biggest thing for me is to make sure that the knot tags are as small as possible. Having tag catch that first guide on the cast will be fastest path to a mess.

I have never been much of a 'match the hatch' guy. One thing I noticed when forage changes is not so much what bait to use but how and where to present it. I watched a reservoir change from grass oriented active feeders to mostly brush and pack feeders when the baitfish population changed.

@TheDoor, it may help if you give some basics about where you might fish with it. I have used c-rig mostly at two extremes: 1. Heavy, one ounce weight fished 18+ feet deep; mostly in mid summer...and 2. Really light, under 1/4 oz, shallow-ish...usually in spring Equipment, terminal line length, speed, baits....will be very different.
