Do those Polar sunglasses really let you see under water?
I got Onos based on @A-Jays recommendation early last year. I have been very happy with them.

How much should I spend on a rod?
Guilty. But I admit that probably should start reading some of them with more than half of mine sometimes. Lol

Rod Arsenal
It's rare that I go out anywhere anymore without at least one spinning rod, so I would probably start there.

Rod Arsenal
What lure(s) do you want to use where you usually fish that aren't working so well on your current rods?

Getting skunked...
Yes.

Have you thought of moving to a warmer state??
Same here. I grew up in WI and it wasn't uncommon to never consider that people could travel and actually move around. The snow bird concept seemed really strange. After more than a dozen moves to different countries, states, and territories I no longer have the sense of being anchored somewhere. Snow birding sounds awfully appealing right now. I suspect that the newfound remoteability of many jobs will increase that sense in much of the population.

Today's Bass Fishing YouTube influencers
I strongly agree with those above that suggest that you, as a good father, are best tool to counter your concerns. But I also acknowledge that I'm quite happy my kids were grown (or mostly:) before I had to face tech, mobile devices and social media the way parents today must. I think it was a lot easier to modulate the 'influencers' influences 20 years ago.

What type of Knot?
Palomar on braid. San Diego Jam for everything else. I used to use Rapala loop knot for some topwater, but decided it didn't make a difference.

Slack Line Bite Detection Braid vs Fluoro
Yes. I agree with all of this. And I don't have an answer, either. In fact, I have two jigs tied on right now, one braid, and one fluoro. A 3/8 brush jig on 40# braid, and a 5/8 (or 3/4?) football on 15# fluoro. I am convinced that I feel bites out there on longer casts better with fluoro. I was concerned about stretch on hooksets, but that hasn't seemed to be a big problem. Closer combat still gets braid, as much for visibility as anything.

Surprise TV shows...
A nice surprise appears to have returned to Netflix: "Intelligence". Canadian show that only lasted a couple seasons for some reason. Watched it on Netflix years ago and then it disappeared for many years. Catch it now before it vanishes again. One other Netflix show that caught me by surprise...and didn't last too many seasons, is a British comedy called 'Detectorists'. Dry humor that not everyone appreciates, but I loved it.

Line thru follow up question...
I never thought to use a split ring with BLT. In fact, I tuck the top treble point into the plastic...I feel it's a little more snag-resistant.

Question for guys who fish straight floro/mono, why do you?
I like braid with a leader. I like straight braid. I like Gliss to leader. I like straight fluoro. Sometimes I even like straight YZH. At this moment I have combos in all of the above in my truck.

Pre-Making Dropshot Leaders
I carried a couple for a while. Always messy. Turns out it doesn't take me long to tie a Palomar knot and clip on a weight.

B.A.S.S. live on TV
Pretty cool to watch live...as someone who only watches the summary shows, it is interesting to see that BASS guys also catch MLF size fish. Usually don't see anything landed under 4 pounds. I think what I like most is you get to see the presentation. Most of the time I only see them starting with the hookset. I really enjoy watching Hackney pitch.

Favorite Spinnerbait Brand / Series ?
I throw Stanley, War Eagle, Nichols and Siebert's.

Straight FC on spinning reel?
A few things I do to keep it 'in line' -I use KVD L&L every time -close bail by hand -pay attention when reeling in to keep loops off your spool -when twists START to be a problem, cut off your lure, let a bunch of line out and trail it in the water, while trolling (or paddling) to get the twists out

Thin Hooks vs Thick Hooks
Thanks, Glenn. I have moved to using much lighter hooks than I did years ago. - I am using better hooks than I used to. - At some point I realized that I have never lost a fish due to bent hook - I fish almost exclusively from a kayak now. The difference is that I still set the hook hard but rarely with the kind of eye-crossing force that I might from a boat. - I am 100% certain that thinner hooks, especially light wire hooks, penetrate far better. More fish in the boat.

Preferences matching rod/reel/line setups to different types of lures
Thanks for topping. Still a pretty good chart, IMO. Soooo many different spoons.....might need their own chart. Could you be more specific? I have thrown small Little Cleos on ML spinning with 6# test, Johnson Minnows on 30#braid.... 1+oz flutter spoons on HF w/17# fluoro....and others.
