  1. Thanks, @A-Jay. Informative....for anyone who wands to land more fish
  2. I think I'm being toyed with. Largely because of loose talk here on BR, I've been soaking purple plastic a lot over past few weeks. Can't get a second look...even a purple senko gets no love....I'm about to put them all away. One or two on a purple Rage bug....but switch to GP or ....anything else and it's on.....I'm getting a complex about purple
  3. A corollary is that from a kayak, I tend to cover (& learn) a given area far more thoroughly than I do in a boat.
  4. GA needs to stop putting those deer crossings on busy stretches of your highways
  5. Big thing for me was finally getting bibs. With most any jacket and pants water will eventually get in.
  6. Awesome seminar. Thank you!
  7. Never heard of them...crazy name for a jig
  8. TTT
  9. I never wear shorts. Quick dry fishing pants, long sleeve hooded fishing shirt, hat, plenty of sunscreen. I'm partial to Columbia and Huk pants and shirts, but there are lots of good ones out there. I buy most from Amazon.
  10. American and Hickory are both running up the Potomac now. We go out a couple times every April to target them. C&R only permitted...at least the last several years. They are a blast to catch. Wife and I caught a couple dozen last two weekends. Hickory are real silvery and American have a green tint. Average catch is between 14 and 18 inches. Light lines and aerial fights.
  11. More than a couple times that I learned a bass picked up my jig when I saw my line going by the front the front of the boat
  12. Mostly depends on how soon a sale pops up after pay day
  13. 4/0's. Flipping, Regular and Light. I don't even weigh fish....I have never weighed any tackle
  14. I like the light from my kayak. I'm more confident in the hooksets, as opposed to the 'regular'. The finesse models have a wider gap...to act as a keel? The only twistlocks I avoid are the flipping models...the point points so far up from the screw lock that my plastics need adjusting nearly every cast
  15. +1 Used YZH for years for everything. I still use it on some moving bait rods. I now use Invisx and braid for pitching and flipping, but I wouldn't be too upset if I had to use YZH for flipping. I feel that I have a little better sensitivity with fluoro, but that could be in my head.
  16. There are lots of well laid out boxes marketed for crafts or hardware. My problem has been that most are not made for the abuse that I provide. I need to put my hands on them at Ace or Hobby Lobby or....before I buy anymore. Cool idea. But, man...they make Plano Edge Flex sound cheap Plano Rustrictor Terminal has been pretty good. Another good option I used for years was gluing a styrofoam packing sheet to the inside lid.
  17. Been using same Gatorade bottle for couple years....it stays in my crate
  18. Had my best day on there yesterday pre-fishing for next week. I'll probably get skunked on Saturday.
  19. American and Hickory. They are up here to spawn and thick in the Occoquan. They are a blast to catch.
  20. I use Gliss with leader on spinning rods and like it a lot. I only use 18#, though. I can't imagine going any smaller. Abrasion resistance is poor, bit that shouldn't be a problem with jerkbaits.
  21. It happens...sharp hooks...set hook well...try to keep her down...don't let her get any slack. But at least now they're still five pounders
  22. Thank you!! Will look at that. I'm most familiar with Hunters Landing, so I expected to spend much of the day in Plentiful. I thought the two bays just south of Stubbs Bridge might also be productive. But, I'm not sure I'll get to pre-fish, so I was going in a bit blind. I'm going to research Pigeon.
  23. Kayak tournament. Any public launch
  24. I stand nearly 100% of the time in a boat. I sit nearly 100% of the time in my kayak.
