Every time I close a browser on the computer...or even just leave BR page on my phone, I am logged out. This just began the last couple days. I figured it was my browsers, but it doesn't matter if it's Firefox at work, Chrome at home, or any of my phone browsers. It may just me since I don't see any other posts about it, but it is a new development and rather annoying.

Sending good thoughts. AD can be just as excruciating for family.

Perhaps....but, I read somewhere that the average brain of a LMB weighs less than most of the jigs I throw. I try not to give them too much credit. The only aspect of line visibility that interests me anymore is whether or not I can see it when I'm flipping or fishing bottom baits. That said, I do use leaders. But not because of visibility. I use leaders with braid for three reasons: abrasion resistance; make a spool last longer (years); and so I can break off, if I need to.

Hate to tell you, but I agree with @Outdoor Zack. $80 might get you into an Abu Garcia Silver, but I have a hard time recommending it. Sucks to hear, but I think if you can get your price point closer to $140 for the combo, you'll probably get a number of suggestions for something you might be happy with. Tell us a little more about how you plan to use it: what sort of conditions, what lures, shore or boat, etc. Why 5'6"?

Interesting question....if only because the lake is so big. I've only been on it a few times, so, I won't offer any help. But, I have considered taking my kayak down for a day and wondered where to launch from. I'm assuming that any of the marinas (or park) would be fine. I think I'd base my decision on expected winds for the day, as much as anything. Having the boat, also adds an entirely different element to the conversation. Are you staying at the lake? If so, where?

@Lures'n'Liberty, I probably wouldn't ever consider fishing from a jet ski...nor from a homemade kayak....I think you're a bit nuts....but, I will say that I have a lot of admiration for your willingness to deviate into nuts-territory....and to adapt and make it work through you're own ingenuity. Catfish most times out; probably 50% channel, 40% blue, and 10% flathead Snakeheads quite often on Potomac and tribs American and Hickory shad in the spring Pickerel, crappie, stripers, perch, and bluegill on occasion. Had a six-species day back in May: perch, bluegill, LMB, crappie, snakehead, American shad...all while fishing for LMB

Stuck together, perhaps, but probably not melted together. I keep some in my car all summer long and they can get stuck together....but they pull apart and fish just fine

manageability (no coils), durability, casting distance, sensitivity, visibility, cost, low maintenance YMMV on any one of those points, but collectively....well, hard to argue against most anyone using it for some applications

Thanks for the report! Greatly appreciate any and all local experiences. I drove over there once on a weekend. Place was choked with people...lots fishing; few seriously. I talked to a half dozen people and convinced myself I didn't need to return. Six bass doesn't sound like a bad day!

The shad 65 is supposed to be a superior 'walker'. Was there a visible difference between the top two? I'd hazard a guess that they are the same, but that the top one is older packaging.

I don't fish topwater at night except for frog or buzzbait, either. But mostly because I stow all the treble hooks when I turn my yak light on.

boat or shore? I ask, because, for me, it makes a big difference. I didn't use them much when I spent time bank fishing. Like you said, more trouble than they're worth. But, even afloat, they can be challenging. For me, the biggest positive change was getting a lure retriever that I could use reliably. It wasn't until I had confidence I'd get stuck lures back, that I had confidence to put them where the fish are.

Watching a Vision dart in the water is probably the single most pleasing bait to look at. And that is probably worth something. To someone. The LC Pointers cast better for me. Not that accuracy is all too important for jerk baits, compared to other presentations, but I get more fouled hooks with the Megabass lures, for some reason....not a lot, but enough to be a little frustrating. I would say the fish-catching ability is about equal. I use both, but I'd probably recommend the LC, if only because the 'catability' gives it an edge. Good thing that we don't actually have to choose one over the other. I'd toss a Shadow Rap onto that order, too...just because. And...while you're at it, maybe a Rogue...jk....BUT, I do have a bright blue/silver Rogue that for some reason will beat the rest on very rare occasions.

Why? You cannot argue that they catch bass. But, they have some limitations, of course. I'm no shrink, but I think that you might do well to confront your hatred and find a way to work them into your arsenal. However, if you're strictly a bank fisherman and contend with surface vegetation and a lot of wood, you may never have a need for them.

Terry Tate are my all time favorite commercial 'series'...followed closely by the eTrade babies. Single best/favorite commercial....that's tough...lots of very enduring memorable ones that I clearly remember....gun to my head, name just one?....probably Mean Joe Greene Coke ad. The VW Star Wars was awesome, top ten, even. I give honorary props to a couple local hits: ad series: Cal Worthington and his pet Spot single memorable ad: During the '16 Super Bowl, a local contractor outfit called 'Michael and Sons' somehow got Mike Tyson to do a short bit in one of their ads, even singing their jingle....it was on only once that I ever saw...came and went very quickly...where you almost question if you really saw what you saw...it was awesome. And one more honorary mention... to Audi. Their use of almost subliminal competitor badges on cars that 'transform' to Audi badges is mesmerizing to me. One from the holidays last year had me totally focused on the beginning of the ad every time it came on to see if I'd really seen what I thought I had.

I find that split grips with the right spacing for my hands are far more comfortable...which means more accurate casts, less fatigue, and better bite detection....for me, anyway
