  1. Lots of discussion about sub-forums lately....and I've been one to regularly say that I don't even use them...I try to read all new content every visit, so I don't notice them much. However, I was trying to search for threads specifically related to fishing for shad and I'm having a heck of a time. Likely user error, but is there a way for me to search for threads with 'shad' in the title...but ONLY in the 'Other Fish Species' sub-forum? Thanks for any assistance.
  2. I might have worded it differently, but I think I have the same sentiments. I don't use sub-forums for reading. I don't much bank fish anymore...(but, a little.) So, I probably shouldn't even be allowed to vote...but I voted 'yes'
  3. For no good reason, I decided years ago that bass hate cedar. I rarely get fish out of cedar laydowns and even pass them up a lot. I probably need to rethink that.
  4. LOL! Forgive me, but I find this quite amusing...."I've got this tool designed, tested and proven to be a fish catching machine....but....I've never used it yet, but I bet I can make it better"....
  5. There's more than a few of us here that are apparently far more clueless than you, and have decided that we won't ever use the 'original' z-man chatters again. But, I'm not sure why you'd choose to throw out such a broad insult and then in the same paragraph say that you're going to try something different. ????
  6. 'Fortunately', temp will top out at 27 on Sun. Temptation averted.
  7. Yum Money Hound; only 'soft' plastic lure that I needed an electric drill to rig it....and forget about it compressing for a hook set.
  8. No clue. But, it would cost all of about $5 to try it with duct seal, which is commonly used in kayaks and would be easily removed from the ducer and the boat, if it doesn't work.
  9. The universe of fishing sonar seems to be shrouded in unnecessary mystery. Except to Wayne, that is.
  10. DpH, you may feel free to absolutely ignore that line rating on the rod.
  11. Take it from one of the bigger cheapskates on BR: Steer clear of BPS hooks. NOT worth the savings....unless you like dull, rusty, fragile, bendy hooks, that is
  12. I can still remember getting a hold of 3.1...on seven 5 1/4 floppies....life changing

Back before I knew better, I used to do pretty well with senko at the end of a c-rig.....been a number of years since I tried it, however
  14. Once you admit to yourself that you cannot win, you'll be closer to finding peace. Go fishing. Get flowers on the way home. Bonus: The flowers might already be on sale by Sun afternoon.
  15. I've been known to pound nails with a crescent wrench and turn nuts with needle nose pliers
  16. Not a lake, but a cove of the Potomac. Not my pic....photo credit to my wife
  17. SK Dream Shot and GYCB Kut Tail
  18. I had an hour to kill on Saturday and went to throw some casts from the boat ramp.....What stopped me, was all the hard water within 50 yards of the ramp. Sad day...
  19. Generally, I throw it within a half hour either side of sunrise/sunset. I mostly toss it in shallows around submerged laydowns. But, I will also throw it into boiling shad balls around sunset anywhere in the lake....Never had a lot of luck with them during the daylight hours....except for bluegills, that is.
  20. I was blown away by this one....started to wonder if our local plumbers had gone local, but apparently, it was a local ad. I'm trying to find the second one...it was even better lololol...found the jingle singing, at least
  21. I'd come to understand that Ned means elaztech. If you aren't using elaztech....well, what's the difference between Ned and shaky?
  22. No home runs, but the NSX and the Audi R8 were definitely drool inducing.
  23. Thanks, guys. I haven't bought from BPS for years, but I'm going to grab a couple more of these. Pretty impressive action for incredibly little coin.
