Preferences matching rod/reel/line setups to different types of lures
Absolutely. IIRC, there were two things that struck me when this was posted. One was the humble acknowledgement by Mr. Schwartzkopf of exactly what you said. The other was how little dissent there was in the initial reactions. I think its a great starting point for those without a lot of experience with different range of rods.

Preferences matching rod/reel/line setups to different types of lures
Someone on here created and posted a pretty nice chart. I can't find the link, but here's a picture of it. Wish I knew the OP's handle, because credit is due!

Site UPDATE Annoyance...Back to new content PITA
Since earliest days I can remember, I've always had a deep-seated fear of missing out on something....lol So, I prefer to scroll through the most recent posts...all of them. I have only VERY rarely opened a sub-forum....Flea Market, maybe.

Why don't they throw the Ned?
- Site UPDATE Annoyance...Back to new content PITA
I read BR often, but always via the same route: 1. "View New Content" 2. Scroll to bottom 3. "Load more activity" 4. Scroll down some more 5. Open a thread 6. Hit 'Back' button And then, here's where I have a problem/complaint. Instead of being returned to unread page with 'more activity' loaded at the bottom, I'm back to 'unread/new content', with only the top 25 newest threads again. If I want to go back to where I was when I clicked open the thread, I need to hit 'Load more activity' again....sometimes many, many times, if I've gotten deep into the new content page. Minor annoyance on desktop. But on mobile, it is slow and tedious enough so as to discourage me from looking through all 'new content'. Am I doing something wrong? Everyone else have this problem? Something that can be 'done' about this?- Landing a fish
Since I got Fishgrips, I haven't lost a fish at the boat (or kayak). Nor have I had any more trebles buried in my hands.- How do you guys progress through your lures during the day?
Different every time out. However, the one thing that invariably does not change is the sense at the end of the day that I didn't try something I should have. I have seriously considered making a list of 30 or so techniques and the couple million possible color combinations and consult it halfway through the day to see if there's something I didn't think of yet, that I ought to be throwing. The only thing I do that's sort of related to the clock is that I like to throw topwater lures within an hour either side of sunrise and sunset. Not always and not always successful- Yo-Zuri Hybrid

few more ideas here- Soft Plastics
Gun to my head to pick just one? Rage Tail -- And favorite Rage Tail? Cut-R. I just went through my plastics yesterday...took me about 8 hours to sort, organize, thin out (I was able to part with about 3 packs out of nearly 50 pounds...lol)...I think its safe to estimate there's over 30 different brands there But, if I was forced to give up all of it and keep just one, it'd probably be Cut-R....would come up a little short as a jig trailer or drop shot bait, but I could probably make do for most other applications.- what was your first lure
Less than certain which was first....but earliest recollection of lures includes Little Cleo's, Creek Chubs, Lazy Ikes, Bass O'reno and Daredevles- Fish On!?!
I understand (and agree with) the usage to encourage boatmate to be ready to net....and to alert other fisherpersons in the area that I have one....especially if its a pig and I want to make sure they can look over with ***. I, however have no personal history with the phrase, so while I also understand your frustration with recent 'mis-use', I think I kinda like it....as in "Fish On, Garth!".... or "Keep Calm and Fish On"..... or after the DNR dude gets through with my license and looking over my boat and tells me "Everything looks in order. Fish on.".... or "Yo, back it up, I'm snagged....never mind, I'm off...fish on" Pretty versatile, if you ask me That's funny...I am not allowed to say e/n/v/y- Dicks Sporting Goods Tackle Sale Countdown
Sorry. I misread. The rod isn't the most sensitive, but not bad at all. I still use it for swim jigs and frogs.- Dicks Sporting Goods Tackle Sale Countdown
Don't break it! It's a good combo. Was my first pair. In three years I repaired one guide and Mike DVT serviced the reel, but it has been good to me. If I came across another anywhere near that price I'd grab 2- How Much Snow You Have?
- What is up with Economy Shipping ???
The cynic in me says that they're making it just a little painful so that in the future, you'll pay them the premium for faster service. But, I'm no conspiracist, (and have a little experience in warehousing and distribution) so I can tell you that you are correct. They can save a lot of money in the long run by you giving them the flexibility to level out the workload over the next couple weeks window. Think about how they'd have to have more employees at all times to handle surges that don't happen at all times....and then during the non-surge times, many would be underemployed for a period.- advice on buying a bass boat
Check out Sam's post in this thread. Very good checklist of things to look for/keep in mind.- Pete Rose in the Reds hall of fame?
Huh? That analogy doesn't make any sense at all. Since when do confessions require a trial to back them up? And what closed doors? ABC News isn't exactly a clandestine operation.- Pete Rose in the Reds hall of fame?
Aside? If he's admitted it...and he has...then what's the point of finding a person who took a bet from him?- Pitchmen we have known and loved, or despised
Surprised nobody mentioned Cal Worthington. I was stationed in Guam 30 years ago and local programming was nearly non-existent. Fortunately, that meant a never ending stream of west coast programming brought to us by Cal and his dog Spot six or eight times a day. Go see Cal, Go see Cal, Go see Cal...that jingle remains stuck in my head today- Pete Rose in the Reds hall of fame?
In my head, my reply wasn't about pointing out the flaw in your post....so much as to say (without saying) that your comment was more accurate before you fixed it....that is, I am not aware that Rose bet against his team. I am not for a second saying that what he did was OK. It wasn't. But, IF he only bet on his teams to win, then I fault him for personal integrity and rules violations, but not necessarily for sabotaging the integrity of baseball. I think he belongs in the HOF. If, on the other hand, he bet against his team(s), and was in a position to facilitate a loss (or even throw some runs against the spread), then I find the argument more difficult.- Pete Rose in the Reds hall of fame?
