Dad was a self proclaimed pan fishermen. The earliest lure I ever remember using was a cubby mini mite tipped with a waxie under a bobber.

6 inch black worm that was stuck to the inside of the tackle box , caught a 5 lb bass on the second cast .  On a bluegill hook . Everyone told me I wouldn't catch anything with that and boom , hooked on bass for life!

Either a road runner or a creme rigged scoundrel with the double hooks and little prop spinner.

First fishing lures I ever used that belonged to my dad were marabou jigs . First bass lure I ever purchased was a jointed mirro Lure . It looked like a catfish . Never caught one fish on it .

A 3" yellow mister twister grub, on a ball jig head, and the first fish I ever caught on it was a hammer handle northern pike, that at the time seemed like a shark to me when I was about 9-10 years old circa 1985-86. The first lure  I ever caught a bass on was a Rapala floating minnow. IIRC, I was so excited about catching that first pike, I bought the Rapala and caught a bass on it a few weeks later.

Mepps Aglia & Comet in-line spinners

Rapala Original Floating Minnow size 7 ( silver/black back, gold/black back )

Those 4 were my very first lures, purchased them at the same time.

An old Creme pre rigged worm,  i think?

my shad rap still have it today it just has a couple more marks from some pikebabybass.jpg

Lazy Ike, yellow with red spots. My grandpa gave it to me and I caught my first bass on it.

Tom

I was given a ton of old lures when I was kid. However I remember when I was about ten I picked out my first lure to buy. I bought a jitterbug. I had about five farm ponds I could walk to from my farm. I remember that first morning fishing that jitterbug. I have been addicted to bass fishing for 25 years now.

Tiny torpedo for me.

I bought my 5 year old step son a tiny torpedo a few months ago and that is what he has been using to learn how to cast in a little pond.

Mepp's Comet. The inline spinner with a minnow body. Caught a good many white bass, some crappie and smaller largemouth with it.

Second was a white Mr Twister grub may dad gave me to keep me busy while he and his buddy fished with minnows for crappie. I was probably 11 years old. I wore them out that day with the grub. We bought the local tackle store out of them on the way home. I was hooked.

Less than certain which was first....but earliest recollection of lures includes Little Cleo's, Creek Chubs, Lazy Ikes, Bass O'reno and Daredevles

I don't remember. But the first one that stands out in my mind is a yellow jitterbug I found at a lake when I was a kid. I still have it too.

Creme rigged worm.I think it was 75 cents.

I'm pretty sure it was a firetiger rapala of some type. I caught a small pike on it, on paradox lake in the Adirondacks. Was probably 8 or 9 and have a fond memory watching my dad curse as he tried to get it out of that pikes mouth. Good times.

A black  Roostertail. Still a catch all lure.
