Speaking of buffets, when I was 8 or 9 we went to a Red Lobster or something like that and I had nothing but Snow Crab and some sort of fruit sald that consisted mostly of red jello, cool whip, and grapes. I ate alot of both. It ended up in my aunts front yard. Bad combo!

Lake Casitas is privately ran by the Casitas Municipal Water District. The staff member you saw checking boats is an employee of the water district, not the state. I have been through that checkpoint, and just this week I have had to cancel a trip planned for march. The East Bay Municipal Utility District runs multiple lakes in my immediate area. One of which they just closed down 4 days out of the week. Blah Blah As for our bass factory, the bureaucrats have no interest in fishing, and are systematically eliminating us from OUR resources for their own interest. Most of the steps taken have absolutely no intentions of protecting our fishing.

Yes. Absolutely. Definitely. Undoubtedly. Certainly. A sensitive rod, a reliable reel, great rain gear, and high quality glasses. These are the things I hold most dear.

This issue has gone way overboard. I agree invasive species are dangerous. There is an acceptable amount of caution, and these guys have gone way beyond that. I know of a guy who lives 3 miles from that lake. He cleaned his boat immaculately and it was bone dry when he got there. During the inspection they found a leaf, 1 leaf, on the guys carpet. he is now banned from lake casitas for 28 days for a leaf. He fishes there almost daily. These private party water nazis are systematically banning us from our own resources. Many lakes have the inspections in place, some ban out of state and socal boats completely, some have reduced to only being open 3 days a week, and some have completely banned boats. It is becoming VERY ugly, VERY quickly. I hate this bureaucratic, backwards A$$, self serving, right infringing, expensive, they call California!

Jimzee have you tried the ones in the little rectangular tins? THe tin looks like it says it is only 3/4oz. is that true better be good stuff for basically 6 dollars for half of a normal can. Also is that chew or dip?

I just mean, not cope, skoal, kodiak, etc CJ. preach, just lookin for something different you know. Just lookin to mix it up a bit. I have had alot of really good chew from little outfits, and I was having a hard time finding dip in the same ilk. sweet jimzee! checkin it out now!

Partial hi-jack for you people in tobacco country. Is there anywhere to get non mainstream dip? I have always tried to find something different. But all I ever find is chew.

BTW, you gotta love the pool! I go out and test baits in mine probably 15X more than I swim in the thing, LOL! My diving board makes a great subsitute flippin deck

;D ;D Whenever Mattlures, Huddleston, or 3:16 drops a new bait, you can bet I've got a pre-order in. Its good to hear the bug is getting thrown all over the place. It really is a sweet little bait, even though I don't throw it very often. It is kind of weird how baits can be available out west for so long before anyone really catches on. Everybody keeps talking about the "hot new basstrix paddletail tube" that thing has been out for at least 4 years LOL! I've never fished the huddlebugs on a stand up head before, might have to try that when fish move onto beds this year!

I've been using them ...well, for as long as they have been out. I almost always rig them on a 3/8 ounce football head with a light wire hook.

Nope. And you're logic behind the fly rod theory is wrong. Fly fishing gear requires heavier LINE, which actually casts the bait. Read the post above this one, it's actually pretty good. If you refuse to answer the original question, please don't post. I just asked a simple question, I have absolutely no idea why ppl feel that they need to "school" me about what does what. I'm sure other ppl would like to hear opinions of the casting ability of reels. Thanks guys for the info, seems like I gotta get my hands on a Pixy sometime! You seem to know it all, why bother asking questions?

those little ospreys are a cool little bait

The bite was really crappy out there today. Branuss04 and I had 1 bite all day but I stuck her. 4lbs15oz on a swimbait. She was an absolutely beautiful fish and I'm happy that she was my first good fish of the year. I absolutely LOVE the release picture. Awesome timing. If you really look at it, you can see a spray of water that is hitting my hands, you can see how it was created from a right to left motion. Then if you look at her big broad tail you can see it is going from left to right. All of that water moved by just two lightning quick flashes of her tail. I think it is a really cool picture! If I am only going to get 1 bite a day, I sure am glad when they turn out like this

Pline CXX 20-30. I use it in crystal clear water with baits up to 12ounces. Only casted off 1 bait in 2 years of throwing big baits almost exclusively.
