  1. I use the owner mosquito in 1 or 1/0 99% of the time.
  2. Took awhile to respond, but anyway: I'm not very confident in rattles. The water is real clear and I think that it was making enough noise in the rocks. jomatty, The Armageddon absolutely ROCKS!!! Is it worth it? Heck yes it is. But it is all relative I guess. If you had told me a year ago that I would own as many $100+ baits as i do, i would call you nuts! I absolutely love night fishing! I have an EPIC tale to tell you guys. I'm just waiting on photos!
  3. Now that was not the point I was trying to make muddy >
  4. Flech, I will shoot you over what I am looking for in a PM. I have contacted a couple other builders to see who is interested/available. Thanks man! Seems like alot of builders are just arrogant old codgers that want to tell me what I want!
  5. Maybe you should look there for your rod... Good Luck and Tight Lines!!!! 8-) They don't make what I want.
  6. I didn't think that Flechero built for people.
  7. After 4 months and a botched rod, I dumped my rod builder today. Absolutely terrible customer service, and he would not listen. Tried to get ahold of him for over 3 weeks without a return call or email. I left him a VERY UNFRIENDLY message demanding a refund, and got a call back in 15 minutes :. Anyway, thats over and I have four or five bills floating around for a rod. Who have you had success with? I don't need somebody who can deliver in a week, I just want somebody who will deliver WHEN THEY SAY THEY WILL! And who will build me exactly what I ask for. Any help would be much appreciated.
  8. Nowhere in the U.S. I would like to fish Lake Baccarac or Cuba though. I actually disagree with with Ronnie. Clear lake is a tough place to catch a double digit. But it is SOOOO full of 4-8lbers its not even funny! If you truly want a fish of a lifetime ( double digit+) Lake Casitas in the winter or early spring is where I would place my bet. Haven't got to fish it yet though....
  9. Its a floater and I use 25lb CX Xtra strong, so I'm not real worried about losing it. The only thing I really worry about is parking it in the rocks in the dark or that giant that eats it boatside. I haven't had it long, and that five is the first decent fish I've got on it yet. But I intend to change that soon When you get a big backlash with these baits, they often break off on the cast. I've only lost one bait this way, but I would hate it to be any of my sinking hardbaits.

Throw that King Kong ALL DAY!!!!!!!
  11. I run NO stinger 99% of the time.
  12. When I nightfish, usually I do it EXTREEEMELY slow with jigs and big plastics. But these fish were eating an aggressive moving bait very well, so we got to cover alot of water. When I fish super slow I use light weight. But lately it has been neccessary to use heavy stuff. The jigs are football heads with the weedguard trimmed down to just a couple strands so the trailer doesn't tangle and NO rattle. I am using 3/4 and 1 ounce weights. The lake is fairly steep walled and rocky. I was popping the jig very sharp and fast twice then letting it fall down, rest for a split second then pop it again. They would eat it on the fall or just as it touched down so you had to keep a fairly tight line, but at the same time not allow it to pendulum too much. I don't know if this method will work in your florida lakes, because I felt like i was relying on the structure to give me the extended fall and the rocks to make the noise as the jig hit. We have had at least 25 fish a night doing this and its a blast!
  13. Thanks guys, I don't think that black baits are neccesary, but I do use them alot of the time. noise and water displacement can be just as critical as color. Mike thats a 3:16 armageddon.
  14. These are a few fish from the last couple trips. This one went 5-13 on a black Skinny Bear jig w/ blue craw This fish weighed about twice as much as the bait... HIGH FIVE! This one went 5-4. My best friends new PB at 7-12 again on the black jig w/ blue trailer. I love night fishing. You get to fish spots that are normally covered in trout bankers, there aren't any yay-hoos waking you out, its not balls hot, its calm, quiet, and the big fish are chewin! Oh yeah and the fact that i can squeeze in ten or twelve hours of fishing between work! Sweet!
  15. where is the smiley that has the hand whooshing right over the top of his head?!?!
  16. I have one too. Pretty solid little reel ( a 2000). Its not my favorite, but it is a GREAT bang for the buck. all my casting reels are shimano and all my spinning reels are daiwa. I think the tierra is ALOT better than the stradic too.
  17. those abt's catch fish, thats for sure. but i don't think that they are big enough to really boost the big fish attraction, even on water where a giant might be 8-10lbs. I have caught a couple dozen fish between 4 and 7 on a 9" MS Slammer in the last year. Alot of those fish are in waters without trout. I would whole heartedly recomend that bait to anyone getting started in swimbaiting. It also catches an amazing number of 2 pounders! It is ugly, but it REALLY works.
  18. Whatever. Its just a big spook with poor action. It is not a swimbait, it is not a wakebait. For that kind of money there are much better options. Since the problem is me, how many big fish have YOU caught on this bait Raul? Just because it says made in japan and costs more than thirty bucks does not make it a good bait.
  19. Stay away from the jackall jointed pencil 180, worst boredom purchase EVER! If you get a hardbait, get a floater.
  20. <--------- Shimano Crucial H, Calcutta 400 both okuma handles are 15" trigger to butt according to http://www.***.com/descpageRDCOKUMA-OGSBBR.html Shimano does not make the Calcutta in a 300.
  21. I agree.
  22. Thats a bummer, but kudos to you for not letting it go to waste. sometimes these things happen.
  23. Skinny Bear. they are the only footballs i use anymore
  24. they are about half as durable as a matt. avid, do yourself a favor and use heat instead of super glue. trust me on this one dude!
  25. Congrats on the new pb! 28 inches is super long!!!! she would have to be more than ten inches in girth though. if she was 28 X 10 she would have the same dimensions as a little league baseball bat! PB's are pretty much the sweetest things ever!
