  1. that is a little tactic I like to call "hooking them with the subject line" LOL! HERE COMES MORE SPEED! YEE HAW!
  2. I used to go on rides with my dad, it was a ton of fun. You guys should have a blast! I used to get sore and worn out within about 100 miles, but that was because all three of his Harleys have been 60's Panhead Hardtails! Sitting over no springs on the back of the bike is quite literally a PITA! The 'wing looks a little more accomodating though! Does she have a DVD screen on the back of your helmet? Have fun, ride safe!
  3. when i put it in i used a brass spacing washer against the drive gear. I didn't use a caliper or anything but side by side there was no appreciable difference. with just a little more lube and and a little pinch, that clicking sound is gone, and after a quick pool test, everything seems ok. thank you!
  4. I don't know why you guys get so torqued about skiers. There is a time and place for everyone. The time and place for skiers is not on my lake while I am there
  5. Man!! That lake has been on fire this year!!!! Shes back! Congrats on the fish, blind casting a 3" plastic?!?! I thought that was low percentage jk Oh so thats what Fish Chris looks like without sunglasses LOL!
  6. DOH! Yes I did have it apart, (which I knew was the problem anyway :-/). I replaced the drive shaft bushing with an abec 7 bearing. hopefully that will make it a little smoother under heavy load. I am sure that is the problem, I thought to add a little lube before, but I bet that the jaws are a little to open. I will take it down and try to close them up a little bit. THANK YOU!!!
  7. No, it has one (at least the calcutta B does anyway) and I took the sideplate off and verified that it was the pawl making that noise. i don't know if there is a spring missing or what. judging by the schematic, i don't think there is one missing, but those diagrams are like trying to read Russian for me somethimes
  8. The anti reverse pawl on my calcutta 400b is audible under retrieve. you can hear it clicking across each tooth. what causes this? its a new problem and very annoying! any help would be appreciated.
  9. I lived in the San Luis Valley until I was 18. I've spent the last few years in big bass heaven!
  10. I know what you mean rolo! For me, sharpening hooks, knives, hatchets and chainsaw chains is kind of a Zen activity. When I sharpen my favorite pocket knife, I might as well set aside the entire weekend I wish swimbaits that have a molded hook had higher quality/replaceable hooks though. But instead we are stuck with no-name saltwater hooks >
  11. Yeah, but how often do you dull a spinnerbait or buzzbait hook? i was thinking more along the lines of my football head/ no weedguard skinny bear jigs ($3+ each) and most importantly: SWIMBAITS!!!!!!!!! I will only sharpen my swimbait hooks at home, when I can be very precise and methodical, sometimes spending 10 minutes a hook!
  12. I replace any hook I can. But I sharpen alot of hooks too. You just can't change out the hook on some baits.
  13. if it says something like 18lbs 12ozs or 18-12 that means it was weighed on my berkley digital or my buddies salter. now if only i catch one that weighs 18-12 i'll be in business! i'll usually weigh anything that appears to be over 4lbs specially if it was on something cool like a popper or a drop shot or somethin.
  14. LOL!!!! I understand what you are saying. I was with Steve (our ichthyologist buddy) and he said it was the ugliest fish he had ever seen and very sickly. Here is another picture that shows her massive head and concave belly. Don't forget that i'm a tall lanky bastich and those hands can palm a basketball very very easily.
  15. RIGHT ON BURLEY!!! I agree with rw, it almost looks "spotty"

    YEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Watch it Avid. I don't have to take that kind of talk from you. I am not a fish object. Thats fishual harassment, and I don't have to take it! ;D Jimzee, The last time I went to the lake during the day was over a month and a half ago. Of course I might catch the last few hours of daylight, or maybe the first hour or two at the end of a long night, but I don't have much desire to daytime fish and deal with 105+ degree temps, crowds, and pleasure boaters. Not to mention, at the lakes I have been fishing, your shot at a truly large fish in the daytime is WAYY lower than at night. There are still a bunch of situations/lakes that can kick big fish during the day, the few that I have been fishing, arent really like that!

Ummmm.... who are you exactly? Haters are lame. Good fish Avid!
  19. You're an animal dude! 3 swimbait fish in the middle of the day in july.... me<---------jealous
  20. Catch an 18+ Largemouth Catch a 50+ inch Muskie Punch Dr. Phil in the nose
  21. OHHHHH so thats why he uses a 7' UL trout rod for 80+ inch sturgeon! the whole knife-sword-warrior thingy...... jk
  22. Chris is an animal when it comes to fighting big fish on light gear, so even with "crap-o-filament", at the right time of year, I have no doubt that he could bring in a 12+ at will on that gear. What is your biggest sturgeon on the ultra-lite fish? How about catfish on an ultra light?
  23. T-rig, I know she doesn't look too bad in that pic, that is why I chose that one. But she was so skinny and humpbacked that she looked like a crescent. I have her stomach turned towards me a little bit in that pic. Nevertheless it was a blast. And there is always the very faint hope that she will bulk back up this winter and be a flippin toad. KU, I love that picture! saved it to my hard drive! sow i will have something to show the people that ask if it gets cold fishing in the dark in winter lol!
  24. naw, i've been airbrushing for a year and a half! randall is taking lessons from me jk
