  1. I think it has to do with a few things. A good percentage of big baiters are friends with the guys building baits. Now if you're personal friend made his money off of creating something, by himself, the hard way, one at a time, and somebody started having a copy of it pumped out of a Chinese factory by the thousands, you wouldnt like it either. So when I see Bill's "BBZ-2" Bluegill, all I really see is Bill swiping food off of Matt's table. It is one thing to make a similar bait. But it is quite another to 3d scan or mold someone else's bait and call it your creation. That is why I never fish or recommend chinese baits. The only people making advances in big baits right now are the artists in their tiny shop or garage, coming up with the real baits. Keep buying this mass produced crap from overseas and the artists, who are already struggling, will go under. Leaving the knock off artists no one to copy and we won't see new, different, quality baits ever again. /rant over
  2. There are a few 3:16 Baby Wake. MS Slammer AC Plugs Minnow
  3. I'm gonna base this solely on my knowledge of the Tru-Tung Trout and the Castaic Rock Hard Trout. Tru Tung- Decent construction, good looking but fragile paint, versatile CRH(initial run)-poor construction, fragile paint, some dont even swim Generally speaking, with swimbaits, you are better off to buy an American built bait, The quality control on a handmade bait is *almost* always better. That being said, there arent really any shad baits of this type available yet. But TT isnt making their baits on anyone else's back, like the BBZ boy is.
  4. I prefer to fish uphill when I can. Sitting shallow casting deep.
  5. I have a buddy who stuck an 11lber, drove 2 miles across the main body of the lake (200+ft deep) to have someone take a picture for him. Not wanting the fish to endure another long boat ride in the livewell, he released it where he took the picture. 3 weeks later, he caught her again, in the exact same spot he caught her in before. So she quickly found her way back across very deep water to her home area.
  6. I've got giant versions of both within an hour or two of me. Smallies are cool, still rather catch a stud largemouth though.
  7. One of many. He (Bill Siemantel) also copied Jerry Rago with the BBZ-1.
  8. Probably neither. But if I did get one it absolutely would not be the Spro. I have bought the last one of their baits I ever will.....and given it away.
  9. Size 14 Lead Eye Bugger, Olive.
  10. Looks around 4 to me. Great smallie!
  11. : Nice fish Bassmaster! :
  12. People who put wild fish into tanks that they will outgrow in a matter months are not cool.
  13. Unless they are small ;D I can fish a spot with no cover, but I can't fish somewhere without one of the big structural features: Points Ridges Humps Creek Channels Flats (must have immediate deepwater access for me) As Catt alluded to, "structure" can be in 2ft of water. But I rellay prefer the 10-30ft range. That is my comfort zone.
  14. A Medium is way too light for frogs.
  15. Ahhh, I guess we double debunked it burlshe

  17. Thats gotta be a candidate for the Darwin awards. I thought fighting lions fell out of vogue with the Roman Empire.... guess not, lol.
  18. I think htey have gone downhill since IOWA. Their self titled is a heavy music fan must have imo. I don't like the milder direction they have taken. I like my metal raw, heavy, screaming, growling and spitting. No sing songy BS needed. That said, they put on one hell of a live show. Last one I went to though, there were more fans of the opening bands than of Slipknot, that says something for what the metal heads think of their new direction.
  19. ???? I think he means that lure popularity can be very regional, not their effectiveness.
  20. No, I prefer Tylenol PM or alcohol when I can't sleep.
  21. Where do you get 17 in. worms at???????? :-? I have them custom poured for me.
  22. Yep. I hope someone knocks this thing off VERY soon!
