The will work in dark water just fine. I have never understood the "swimbaits only work in clear water" mantra that people always spew. I hear what you are saying about the fish just passing the bluegills by. But that is probably in relatively open water. Bluegill are quick and I dont think bass will be burning a bunch of energy chasing bluegill down. They want to get the drop on them. Thats why I try to fish Matt's BG as close to cover and ambush points as possible. The majority of my success on that bait has had fish come out of very heavy cover to whack it as it buzzes by.

Thanks Matt and Brian. Brian that one is 10" and 6.75oz. The 8" is 3.75. I agree with you on that not strictly a night bait point, there are actually a select few lakes where I might throw this during the day. Thats the one nice thing about building baits, I dont have to hum and haw over what color to get, I just get them all! HAHA!

Generally speaking I try to use handpoured worms and lizards in all sizes for all of their applications. The only injected baits that I use are creatures and some swimbaits. I prefer handpours for their colors and softness. Well at least softness for finesse techniques. But my guy that does my giant night baits pours them for me just a little firmer than a power worm (which are pretty tough in their own right). Not all injection baits are cheap either, I have some 8"ers that are $35.00 haha.

I'm a fan of wind up until about 15-20, after that I am with you guys. If boat positioning and casting weren't an issue then I would be happy. Wind+Swimbaits= ;D But post frontal conditions in cold, muddy water. I will probably just stay home and head butt a wall. Gets me angry and gives me a headache just like the fishing would have, but I saved $100.

They were doing some training today and we got to see these guys picking up water. They were much closer than this pic would suggest. Pretty cool. There were four birds in the air this one and another like it (Huey?) a Chinook, and one that I have no idea what it was. It was pretty cool for awhile but after about an hour of them buzzing around I was starting to feel my "outdoor experience" getting hampered, lol.

: I have the Costa Tropic Stars with amber/vermillion/gray lenses. If I were only to have one of their lenses it would probably be the Amber ones. They are a little darker than most companies Amber, IMO. Customer service is ok at best though.

I'm pretty removed from the car scene these days. Thought I was gonna build tube frames for awhile, lol. But this is the coolest car ever built.

Wanted a gnarly looking 10" 2X4 for my upcoming night fishing season. Came up with this little number. I think its kinda cool. Have also started playing around with some different eyes which are recessed.

Unless I see the fish bumping the female to loosen the eggs, I wont believe that its a male if it is over 5lbs.

It doesnt bother him, but if i was on LM of that quality on that lake I wouldnt want them getting hit by anyone else. I guess I'm greedy, LOL. Anyway, you've had a banner year there this year Fish! Only been out there three times for some pretty thorough butt kickings!

I have had only 1 fish that I thought was over 10 jump clear out of the water. First big swimbait fish I ever hooked. She jumped, I dumped her. Other than that almost every "big" fish I have hooked has come up and at least thrashed around at the surface. I have had very few that just bulldogged to the net. None of them were my biggest fish, but they fought MUCH harder than the "thrashers".
