^^This^^ - Power Pro , Sufix , Seaguar braids + mono or FC leader is what I'm working towards for all my outfits . Trying to cut down on pure mono or pure FC spooled on reels with the braid + leader approach .

To cover water from top to bottom in the Fall : 1) Strike King KVD Sexy Dawg : Classic walk-the-dog top water - buy any with a white bottom and your set . 2) Booyah Spinner Bait 3/8th oz. in white and chartreuse with a silver willow leaf blade in front and a gold colorado blade in back . 3) Medium Running Crank Bait - Take your pick in natural shad or sexy shad and you are set . 4 ) A Arky or Football Jig in green pumpkin with trailer of your choice to match for dragging / hopping on the bottom .

**Seems like there is room for improvement in the bladed jig lure category !!

For the money , that new Garcia Ike series technique specific purple drop shot rod would be on my short list .

KVD uses a larger 4000 series but ONLY with FC line as the larger spool cuts down on line twist . Of course , KVD is using a top dollar super light weight 4000 series so he can make multiple casts without getting tired . For mono . braid with backing and even FC with mono backing a 3000 series would be ideal for bass . I have a Sahara 2500 series but I also have #10 lb. braid with mono backing on that reel for shaky head and weightless worm applications .

For those who still employ a stick worm (Senko , Yum Dinger , etc.) in Fall / Late Fall please advise your set up , colors used and technique (i.e. T-Rig , Wacky) and how you may fish the stick worm ... I'm thinking there may be a play on a dying shad immitation or a craw moving slowly on the bottom ?

Sounds like in your case - Yozuri Hybrid in a few different strengths + braid would work for a variety of jig applications (including football).

Thanks Mike for the new Morel jig head - I will definitely be a customer ! ... You have the right head shape , line tie , keeper and especially the hook to make this jig head a success for us Ned Rig folks . *The only suggestion I will offer is please consider to offer the head color in red as well . One of the Japanese FLW / BASS Elite Pros studied how a red color Ned rig jig head was especially effective during the post spawn for bass and I found this to often be the case . I believe having black , green pumpkin and red color morel jig heads would then cover most all the bases for Ned Rig applications .

As long as new owners keep the Super Duty , BB1 and Tournament Pro series I will be happy !

Do what KVD does : Two ft. leader of #20 lb. Big Game mono at the end of #20 to #30 lb. braid .

A good all around length for twitch baits , Sammy's , Gunfish , etc. would be a 6'6" M Fast used with #20 to #30 lb. braid or #12 to #17 lb. mono .

I wonder if high end walk-the-dog baits such as Lucky Craft Sammy's come with a split ring included ?

I bought two KVD Sexy Dawg Jr.'s from WM and when I got home and opened up the boxes - one had an oval split ring attached and one didn't ! ... Uhm - now not sure if I am supposed to us a split ring with a KVD Sexy Dawg Jr. or not ?? What is your preferance / experience with the Sexy Dawg waking bait : Leave the split ring on OR remove it ? ... Thanks in advance !

In the Fall as the water cools the Zoom Trick Worm with it's straight tail and less action than a ribbon tail worm is a better worm approach . T-Rig it with a 1/8th ~ 1/4 oz. bullet weight or 1/8th oz. Shakey Head jig in Green Pumpkin or Black and 3/0 offset worm hook ... Just snake it around on the bottom slowly crawling it along with an occasional lift and drop on the retrieve . Green Pumpkin , Plum and June Bug are three colors that will work almost any where in the Fall . Give it a try and see what you think ...

Looking for best experiences and suggestions with clear coat / sealers for lures (that don't turn yellow) to protect paint and allow the addition of suspending glitter on lures ? Hopefully a spray or brush on with no mixing !

I will try methods suggested above to see what's best . Before I used #15 lb. FC main line with a mono leader (which I may go back to if needed) . I use a steel egg weight which are smooth with no burrs . * I'm trying to try #40 lb. braid for C-Rig , Jigs , Flipping , Frogs , etc. as a multi use set up by using a FC or mono leader where required . Trying to cut down on how many reel set ups I need with a bait caster .

If braid mainline color is a concern here is the remedy : Black Sharpie (the FAT / WIDE kind) With an Exacto knife (or similar) cut a small , thin notch in the top of the Sharpie tip Run your braid through the Sharpie tip 12" then lift out of the tip notch , skip 12" of braid then drop the line back in the Sharpie tip and color another 12"...You want to do this for 6' 7' alternating 12" Sharpie black , 12" no Sharpie black , 12" Sharpie black , etc. This coloring method will camo / break up the braid outline well .

I believe in clear water a white spinner bait with a willow blade having one side painted white is great for Fall shad pattern . Where Spots & Small Mouth roam - a willow blade with one side painted bright orange or chartreuse will create greater reaction bites . I also believe under certain circumstances a painted willow or Colorado blade on a spinner bait can provide just enough difference from the norm to get a few more bites. I also believe the same holds true for under spin baits ...

For those of you who use braid main line for a C-Rig , what specifically is your line set up ? I'm thinking #40 lb. braid to the barrel swivel then a FC or Mono leader . My concern is whether to tie in a length of #15 FC from the braid before the barrel swivel to provide the last portion of the braid to be better protected from the weight rubbing / sliding as well as bottom contact abrasion of the braid . I fish Southern reservoirs with mainly bare clay , semi - rocky hard bottoms . * While I could just use a #15 lb. FC mainline for a C-Rig , I want to be able to use my C-Rig outfit for MH duty flipping and punching thus the desire to create more versatility by choosing the #40 lb. braid mainline where slack line sensitivity is not an issue here ... Your experiences and thoughts ?

I like Bass Pro fishing equipment and lure brands better than Cabela's branded fishing equipment- otherwise for hunting and clothing it's Cabela's all the way . * I think Bass Pro should take over Cabela's fishing department (too much Walleye stuff) , bring in their bass boats and leave the rest alone !!
