  1. This is my rod for medium weight jerkbaits and topwater. 8-) Another vote for the AC66MF
  2. Already married and she's OK with my "habit". When we're planning vacations, sometimes she suggests booking a guided fishing trip before I do
  3. The owner told me he's just not selling many, as the $100 and under market has taken over. There were a handful in the discount bucket besides mine: a 733 split handle, 733 full handle and two 704 spinning rods.
  4. Go to any paintball website or store. I can't imagine there's much (if any) difference
  5. Happiness is going to your favorite tackle shop over lunch and seeing a rod you've been eyeing at 50% off. And, of course, buying it Dobyns G2 704C for $115. Can I get a"booyah"?
  6. What a terrible trip! I'm sorry you had to struggle through such a horrible experience. 8-)
  7. By sheer coincidence, we had to move the trip to 3/25 and 26th so maybe this is a good thing
  8. Next time you go -- let's carpool and split gas
  9. Hey buddy! YOU suck! ;D Don't insult my coffee or my donuts. Them's fightin' words. LOL....he's from Altanta, so all you need to do is make fun of Coke...it is nearly a religion down there. I was raised in NJ so I prefer Pepsi but can barely get it around here. Feel free to insult Coke all you like.
  10. BPS Extreme 7'6" in either MH or H. You can get them for $70 on sale
  11. I only have a new 2010 Premier, but just a comment here... The likely cause for any difference in casting will be the introduction of the dual casting control, rather than any additional bearings. But as far as that goes, I love mine. I can throw a weightless fluke a really good distance with no worries of a backlash. My older STXs can also do this, but I needed to be more aware of prevent backlashes. The new Premier seems much more "worry free" in this area.

  13. Does anyone know anything or have first-hand experience with Rapsody rods? I saw them at the Classic tradeshow yesterday (thanks for the head's up, Ryan ). They looked interesting, but "looking interesting" isn't enough to drop $200 on a rod. Has anyone fished with these things? On the other hand, I did come <this> close to picking up a Falcon Cara weightless worm special with micro guides. Stupid conscience got in the way...
  14. Hello all, So hypothetically speaking, how should one pack and prepare for a trip to Stick Marsh in early March? The cabin fever is in full effect, so I'm reduced to mentally planning trips. Hehe... Thanks!
  15. I hate this taunting penalty. Let me rephrase -- I don't hate a penalty for taunting, but I hate the proposed enforcement would be taking points away. Sorry -- it's simply too subjective, and whether or not to allow a touchdown based on some subjective criteria is a terrible idea.
  16. Mods -- can we please enact a 5 day ban on this guy for scarring members with obscene mental imagery?
  17. I took a trip with Alex last fall. We had a good time and I plan to use him again.
  18. I use a BPS Extreme 7'6" H telescoping rod. It compresses down to about 6'6" and can throw 2 oz baits as well.
  19. I've never fished a Loomis but I'll tell you that I've heard over and over that Loomis isn't worth it until at least the IMX line. If it was my money, I'd select an Avid over a Mojo every day of the week and twice on Sunday
  20. So that one with the guys netting the fish... What the heck was that that came up after the fish they caught and took their net? I couldnt' tell...
  21. BPS Extreme 7'6" H action rod w/ Cardiff 300 I throw 2oz and under with this setup and it works just fine. And if I ever get above 2 oz, I'm confident this rig can handle another 1/2 to 1 oz.
  22. Based on your info, I'd say the 704 is the better bet. My G1 704c can handle 1/8 - 1/4 oz T-rigs as well.
  23. The new Hammond's store is freakin' incredible. When they built their new store, the city made them build a retention pond. What does Hammond's do? They stock it with fish and put a dock around it so they do lure seminars. BRILLIANT They also added meeting rooms so that local clubs can hold club meetings there. This place just knows how to please their client base.
