  1. I actually caught one on my "last cast" this summer. Never happened before of course but it did this day. I called "one more cast"; caught one, packed my stuff and left Ya don't wanna jinx that stuff...
  2. Good for you man! Sounds like you learned some things and got more comfortable with some foreign baits. The more versatile you can be, and learn when to use those other baits, the more consistant you will be at catching.
  3. Keithechs swim amazingly well. They are very soft and tear easily though; but I know that's part of their fish catching ability. I couldn't get Rage to swim very well for me. Recently, I've been liking the Reins Fat Rockvibe 4". They swim well and are very durable fish after fish.
  4. I fish too many different types of water to name 3. I go from whackin 50+ on a chrome trap one day in clear water to 30+ on a variety of baits the next weekend to 30+ in a gravel pit pond the next on drop shot and small swimbait. I just fished last sunday and caught em on a jig and crankbait. I could never narrow down any semblance of baits.
  5. Absolutely! I live in southern maine and fish mostly the Augusta area. So much good water up here! I think there are more fishermen that you think; everyone just keeps this gold mine to themselves. You have to be careful what you read and where that information is referring to. I've found Maine to be very different than most water south of us.
  6. This is what bothers me at night
  7. 9 acres is a huge area and too large to call "your own"; I'd be in there with him. Geeze, I don't think someone should expect more than 1 acre to themselves to be honest. A spot I'd give another angler would be a point, a bridge etc... 9 acres??
  8. I fish some tourneys with my old club and they do 1-2 per year using ScoreTrackerLive...MLF style tourney. The director just informed me the app is gone; like gone gone...can't be found or used. Anyone have any more info on this? Maybe a workaround?
  9. State record smallie of 8 even came from Thompson; good lake for sure. Lake Auburn has some good fish in it I've heard
  10. And pull from the connector, not the wire
  11. First thing we need to know is, is this a "lipless" crankbait or a billed bait? Do you know the exact brand and name of the bait?
  12. Waiting 80's style
  13. They all think they're bigger! I've had some hit that I wudda sworn was a 9 lb'er; only to reel it in and it's 14 oz
  14. Oh I'm ready!
  15. Definitely not a mullet. Maybe some type of sea perch? It does look like a striper but coloring is not typical.
  16. Some days I don't feel like a large pizza but will snack on chips
  17. It sounds like you have tried a number of presentations. Without knowing everything you've done, I would find points with water from 10-20' and drop shot with a few different colored baits. I've had days where I have fish below me, dropped a green pumpkin worm on them with no bites. Switched to a Purple Weenie Reins worm and lit em up. Do you drop shot?
  18. Are you a boater or shore? If boater, decent electronics?
  19. I love your attitude man!
