  1. Thank you man; I'll do some homework and look at some breakdowns of it and try to give it a shot. I'd just like to know more about how it works myself.
  2. ^^Thank you for the tip and offer! I've barely ever opened a reel; where is the AR bearing? lol
  3. My BPSPQ reel sometimes does not lock into the anti reverse. This is very annoying when I'm yo-yoing a trap where there is constant stop and wind during a retrieve. Is this something I can tweek myself or do I send it to DVT?
  4. I'll echo A-Jay's advice in that it comes down to the water you fish. Are you more of an off-shore fisherman who will encounter some waves or are you more of a cove/pocket fisherman who will be in calmer water most of the time?
  5. All of my setups are braid to leader. I keep my leader just short enough so the knot does not enter the reel; it's best to never have the knot enter a reel actually. To OP, see my post in this thread:
  6. I like a 7 as long as it's light enough; if I could only have 1 length
  7. ^^^There are times and conditions where one particular bait will get bit when others won't. I know everyone raves about the SK red eye shad but I typically throw a Bill Lewis. Well one day I was really whackin em on a trap (Bill Lewis of course) when my line snapped on a cast. After seeing the bait splash in half way across the lake, screaming and crying, I reluctantly tied on a red eye and proceeded to not catch another fish the rest of the day....for real
  8. In water 45 degrees and down, yes, you are
  9. I use 20lb braid to 16lb fluoro leader

  13. This puts a smile on my face. Great job to all involved!
  14. https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/neil-peart-rush-obituary-936221/ Can't tell you how much air drumming I've done to him and RUSH over the past bunch of years. Truly a rock legend gone too soon. Sad day Drum on brother; drum on
  15. I inch along a Zman TRD Crawz in green pumpkin on a 1/10 oz Ned head
  16. Merry Christmas my BR friends
  17. I'm guessing none of you are going to need an auger?
  18. Congrats on your new PB but!
  19. Sounds like he never had a doubt about you! Oh what I'd do for 40* water right now...
  20. Bubring Shaker in purple weenie
  21. My buddy and I went out for the last time this past Sunday. Air was 16-17 deg to start the day, went up to 28 deg and water was steady at 34. Had to break through 20' of ice with the trailer and boat to lauch; most of the lake was frozen over but we found some open water after buzzing the shoreline to break it up with our wake. Anyway, we were able to coax 15 lmb into biting; we even had a double! We went out 2 sundays before; water was 40. Air started at 17 and went to 30. Had a great day with 52 fish coming in the boat.
  22. I think you're in the ballpark. My rig is a small 1996 16' Nitro. Loaded with gear and gas, total weight was 2200. Your trailer may not be 1000; I'm thinking more around 700+- But for towing purposes and safety, it never hurts to overestimate. Actually, if its a dual axle it could be 1000
