  1. Lipless crankbaits and jerkbaits will be your 2 main baits. Try different colors and different retrieves to see how they want it.
  2. Thanks for sharing; nice story. And congrats on putting together a pattern; that's what it's all about! An Albright (or improved Alberto) will work, if tied right, 100% of the time. Here's a nice site that's easy to follow. Click on Albright; I've used a blood knot with good success as well but the Albright is a slimmer knot. https://www.animatedknots.com/knotlist.php
  3. Aaahhh; gotcha I'm going to have to do some more homework on these! Thank you
  4. Thank you for the info so far. I guess I need some schooling on these things. I want a motor that has spot lock, but I want a foot pedal too; and be able to mount my Garmin ducer to the bottom as usual===is there such an animal?
  5. So I found a pretty good deal on a Power Drive V2 55lb motor with iPilot. I had some questions to anyone who has one. First, how do you like not having a pedal? I'm trying to imagine this setup and not sure I like it. Second, can I mount a Garmin transducer on the bottom of the motor as I would any other motor? Anything else I should know about?
  6. I posted this in an electronics thread; thought I'd put it here too: BPS has the Garmin Striker 5cv, in store only, discounted to $179.88 I just picked one up. You can call BPS home office/customer support, give them the model/sku #, and they can tell you what stores show stock. I then had the store that showed it, transfer it up to a store near me. They will not ship to your home; in store only but a great price on a new unit. EDIT: Link to said Striker: https://www.basspro.com/shop/en/garmin-striker-5-cv-fishfinder-and-gps-chartplotter
  7. Mine isn't a physical box, more a mental state of mind. When I struggle, I'll lean towards a TRD on a Ned head, drop shot finesse worm, small swimbait on a ball head; and I feel I can always get bit with a t-rigged worm (water color determines bait color for me) in grass in 6-10 fow
  8. I'll let out a little secret here. BPS has the Garmin Striker 5cv, in store only, discounted to $179.88 I just picked one up. 9. Braid/leader=line manageability issues solved
  10. Glenn rubbin' elbows!! Too cool! Definitely jealous
  11. Was watching a show this morning on the Outdoor Channel where KVD was in Michigan, drop shotting a white baby Ztoo for smallies. He wasn't nose hooking this bait but more Trigged Anyone know the hook he was using for this?
  12. I was going to say this! When is the public signing and how much for a sig??
  13. It's called having a little class, respect and integrity. Does the lake belong to everyone? Sure it does Do those kids have every right to go fish that spot? Absolutely Was that a classless act on the water? In my eyes, yes If those kids are just local boys out fishing, then they have that lake for another 364 days out of the year. Personally, I'd never roll up on a spot I saw a pro fishing in a tourney of that magnitude. I believe they knew exactly what they were doing and not just passing by and thought to stop there. Just my opinion folks
  14. You guys are killin me
  15. Congrats!! That's a great feeling! Good luck with the boat; I'm sure it will get worked out.
  16. Spend some time in Cabelas/BPS playing with their units. Go through the menus, change settings etc...and see which template you like better.
