  1. I know I should explore more of this state; isn't that always the way though? We never know what we have, even when it's right in front of us. Yeah, kinda leaning towards there
  2. If you were to take a drive, stay 2-4 nights, fish ~3 days...where would you go? I'm in Maine and want to take a short smallie trip. I have a 19' glass boat I could haul and stay at a hotel or I could hire a guide and let them take me in their boat; either way is fine with me; just not sure where to go. I'm good with a 1-2 day drive from Maine. Wouldn't want big water Want big smallies Go
  3. Because people today have to complain about something
  4. Maine Crayfish...but we're all a little cray cray up here
  5. Is there a public launch on Crescent? I've never fished it
  6. Throw it in the lake of course!! Out of sight....out of mind. Kidding...kidding...don't get your A-rigs all tangled. Any trash, line clippings etc.....go in my pocket. Torn baits go in my cup holder and into the trash when I get home.
  7. Didn't watch but I think I get the gist from the comments. On the contrary, 99% of my Ned fish are hooked nicely in the roof of the mouth and easily released.
  8. I try to never grab the line. Your rod acts as a shock absorber; without the rod in the equation, it's very common to break line; reach down and lip him.
  9. My half-full glass is what makes me say all of the above is why we need to be thankful for the good ones. I'm so fortunate to have an awesome fishing buddy. We get along great, go out for beers, fish the same style etc... He's a member here, although I won't point him out. Don't be afraid to tell the good ones how much you appreciate their friendship. Thank you for being such a great friend bud
  10. So sorry to hear
  11. If the angler is not sight fishing, fish can be foul hooked. In no circumstances can an angler intentionally "snag" a fish. If they are sight fishing, the hook has to punture the fish from the inside of the mouth.
  12. Hi Vis yellow to fluoro leader on almost all my rigs
  13. Absolute giant!! Congrats!!
  14. Until there's a 25-3, Dottie will be the record for me
  15. You can fish out of anything. But I have to ask, why the smallest? Do you want a "sit on top" or "sit in"? Have you tried any at all yet?
  16. I prefer rainy days actually. The bite is always better during low pressure or falling pressure
  17. Every winter when I put my boat/equipment away, I loosen all my drags so nothing "takes a set". So, like above, forgetting this in the spring.
  18. 45-48 in the spring just after ice out. I have a spot figured out that's the most consistant bite of the year; numbers are absolutely ridiculous. From there it doesn't matter to me. But I look forward to that spring bite all winter long.
  19. Good for you man!! Can't wait for early reports!
  20. I didn't read all the replies, so forgive me if I'm doubling up; but to me, the choice to use spinning vs BC is the type of bait you are throwing, not species of fish you're targeting.
  21. I'm so sorry to hear. Hopefully you find strength in friends
  22. While driving home from the lake....
  23. They’re a strange breed up here! As well as those who fish for them this early! ?
