  1. Dude, coffee is banned on my boat cause of my girlfiriend spilling it
  2. If you're super good at it, you can back it up , with no straps attached , and let it float off the trailer, while simultaneously getting out of your car and gently guiding it with your foot to where you tie it up. and then go park your car. I launch my boat, never use a rope to guide it and i never step foot inside it. skills to pay the bills son
  3. im in the middle of that exact process. first off would be good to know what kind of boat were talking about?
  4. God replacing the carpet sucks so much. that is all
  5. When I launch my boat solo I unhook all the straps and launch it off the trailer into the water . then I get out and lightly guide the boat with my foot , tie it up and walk back to the car. When I put it back on the trailer I drive the boat up onto the trailer . If you use a rope to pull your boat at any point in the process u ain't got skills
  6. I posted this on another thread http://asafishing.org/uploads/2011_ASASportfishing_in_America_Report_January_2013.pdf use this to do a comparison of fresh vs saltwater sales of boats in each state or do a how much per capita freshwater fishermen spend on boats . If you're smart you'll figure out how to use excel and get some good figures . The bass boat companies aren't public neither is bass pro shop who owns tracker boats so exact figures aren't easy to come by. I've used the above report to create a super spreadsheet that I have submitted to my CEO (FLIR , Raymarine) so it's good stuff
  7. If it's in good condition, offer him 3750
  8. I have an Abu Garcia pack back and a sling , i use the sling everyday . You may find that sometimes all you need is a sling . And casting with one on is no problem
  9. Ok what features do u not care about ? And how often would u say you have bought a new sonar setup ?
  10. 2 questions 1. what 3 features are most important to you when choosing a fish finder 2. what features would you like to see on a fish finder that arent on one now?
  11. just look at all of the people's profile posting from california , see what common favorite lakes we all have and go there
  12. Surf perch , go get you some gulp camo sandworms, rig up a carolina rig and go to La Janelle Park right near the base and fish from shore.
  13. cause its sound and not chum, again it doesn't bring the fish right to you, but it has increased the amount of fish i catch by double. a friend of mine, non-believer, got one, went from back of the pack to 2nd place for the year in the local tournaments.
  14. Update on the 2 largemouth Bass in my aquarium. Ive had them since they were 3 inches long, and now they are easily over a pound , both of them happy in their 200 gallon tank in my garage. they have heat, and i make sure they have plenty of room to manuver. going to be building them a pond out back cause me and my GF have grown way too attached to them. (originally caught from Casitas , Cali). They eat some goldfish, but we try and feed them rosy red minnows, and we supplement their diet with big fat night crawlers which helps with the parasites. one of them likes to be pet by my GF. love it when they eat the minnows watching them suff their mouths till fish are spilling out of their mouths.
  15. well the johnny morris is made in shandong china , don;t know where the lews is made
  16. Id go with the Medium Heavy , i have the medium , and the medium heavy is goign to be a more all around rod for what you're looking for. love that rod, only stopped using cause bought 4 Megabass rods
  17. So ive always wondered if the Megabass casting reels were all that much better than the daiwas they start off as. So i took the a local pond with the MEgabass zonda rossa and a daiwa 105 both with 8lb seagur flurocarbon. I had the zonda rigged on a megabass evolution big taper eisel and the daiwa on a megabass evoluzion c40 expada . distance? megabass i'd say 10-15 feet further than the daiwa, some casts just kind of blew my mind. definitley noticed a major difference backlash / general messing up of line. massive difference and this is where the lightness of the spool on the megabass vs the daiwa was obvious. retrieve? megabass was better but not by a huge margin flipping / pitching not a massive megabass advantage here, but still better. Yeah so i beleive the hype. The daiwa 105 would be a 1998 BMW 328, and the megabass a 1999 BMW m3
  18. I own 4 megabass rods, nothing compares. call up the owner of tackletrap.com he sells both rods, and is the best rod consultant out there, ask him your question. i am no way affliated with tackletrap
  19. the "you sir suck at..." i guess yall didn't get the sarcasm or the joke, i thought the "you sir" denotted that. didn't mean to offend sorry if i was an ******* there.
  20. I have seen a non-baja bug , 1970's VW beetle launch a small 13 foot fiberglass boat at Castaic Lake in California . I took a video of it cause i was so shocked. unfortunately i don't have the video. that ramp is also very steep. so yes its possible ,
  21. You sir suck at google . http://asafishing.org/uploads/2011_ASASportfishing_in_America_Report_January_2013.pdf try this report instead. ive been using it for a few weeks now to calculate how much each state spends on specifically just fish finders by freshwater anglers.
  22. Just purchased the following. Megabass destroyer evoluzion Expada - paired with a Megabass Zonda Rosso Red Limited Edition Megabass Destroyer Black Jungle 710 Punching Swimbait (3/8 to 6 Oz!!!) paired with a Daiwa Ryoga Shrapnel - finally i own a black jungle rod . Megabass Evoluzion Big Taper Series ElSEIL parired with Daiwa SV105 .
  23. It all depends on where ya fish. if you're fishing the Potomac River , probably doesn't matter as much. Now if you're fishing Lake Casitas , the bass are a florida northern hybrid, the water is clear and deep, yeah sound is going to matter way more than the sound is going to carry alot further than say a river or lake that is 8 feet deep and super muddy and weedy. "bass certaintly associate certain sounds with danger. Most noises above water bounce off the surface, so ordinary coversation doesn't spook vass. but scuba divers report bass spooked when electric trolling motors are turned on and off. (which is why i prefer the XI5 over the Terrova in terms of spot lock). Divers also observed that standing to cast , which causes the boat to twist in the water , sends waves that spook bass. bass are spooked by close , erratci and unfamiliar sounds especially when they're in open areas (clear deep reservoirs) bass in cover seem more secure." Quoted from the in-fisherman largemouth bass book (best bass book written). I also use a hydrowave to mask any sounds i do make, and yes the d**n thing really does work flawlessly. Sight is really what bass rely on, hearing along their lateral lines is 2nd. What i notice on the weekends is when bass get spooked they will suspend around 20 feet deep in 60+ foot of water. They will be away from the ledge or wall suspended over open water. another thing bass hate in California, is stupid jet skis. thank god my lake don't allow jet skis, body contact , wake boarders or tubing.
  24. while were on the subject , anyone know how to adjust the brakes on a daiwa rayogo sharpnel?
  25. for the money youre trying to spend , definitley look at the Raymarine Dragonfly line
