  1. Dropped $260 myself on 2 new reels, a 7'6" heavy rod and some other stuff. It adds up quick that is for sure.
  2. What do you mean scaled down version of the PG? I have 3 of them and just bought another and haven't noticed a difference.
  3. Headed to BP this morning. Trading in an old reel and rod I don't use. Plan on purchasing a Abu Garcia Revo SX to go on a 7'6" Heavy Rod I plan on purchasing and also pick up one of the BP Qualifer reels. I probably will drop some $$ on other stuff too.
  4. I enjoy watching Mercer. He has good info and the best part of his show is at the end when they actually show how many casts he made and the number of fish he caught. Most pro shows just show the big boys catching one fish after another with no idea of how many casts it took to get them. Also like his crazy ass laugh!
  5. Also planning on purchasing a 7'6" Heavy rod at BP this week. Reviewng many of the rods in this category I see they have fast and xfast tips. I will primarily use it for pitching jigs and the occasional frog. Should I go with the fast or xfast? Thanks!
  6. They need to open up bear hunting. The black bear problem is starting to get out of control. They are constantly in the area I live in and damaging stuff. Many are also killed on the road. I think the best thing they could do is start a lottery like they do with gator hunting allowing only so many hunters to participate.
  7. Congrats! Better than having kids.
  8. Take it for what it is worth! http://www.fix.com/blog/view-from-below-lures-underwater/
  9. Man that is a lot of stuff just for frogs. I fish them right out of the package. I like the idea of the additional holes to work as drains.
  10. Fish like that and the idiots want to take out the dam and drain the reservoir to supposedly improve the water flow in the St. Johns River.
  11. Head east on SR 40.After you cross over 19 there is Wildcat Lake on your right. Costs 4.50 to launch. It is catch and release, but lots of bass in it.
  12. I have had good luck in NY state with Live Target perch lures.
  13. Welcome to the forum!
  14. Thanks for the help!
  15. That does look more like what I am experiencing. So I understand, are the fish you are referring to the white marks on the screen? Thanks! Gary
  16. I never get resolution like that. I have mine set on what is recommended which always seems to be mid range on the settings. It is difficult to find real structure here in flat bottom lakes Florida.
  17. Depends on what time of the spring you are talking about. I have a place on a lake south east of Syracuse that I open up late April/early May and the weather can still be mighty iffy. The water is real cold, but I have found that the fish are really hungry and will aggressively slam just about anything you throw at them. I have fished Black Lake a few years ago during the summer. It is really nice up here, but farther north than where I am located, so the weather factor could be significantly different.
  18. I have a wide variety, but this past summer I started using Live Target lures and had great success with them. Recently received a River 2 Sea lure and it looks like it has potential.

    That is one big bubba!
  20. It is hard to keep those old farmers down. Glad he is improving.
  21. So much for the mechanic that told you it was the head. How did he get power to the head with the switch off? I would be looking for a different mechanic!
  22. I went to Dicks in Daytona Beach today to look for the 50% off deals. What a joke. The sale was for any reel marked with a price ending in 93 or 97. They had two crap spinning reels at that price. Everything else was their usually overpriced amounts. Why bother saying you are going to give a discount on things when all you are offering is crap. Every time I go to Dicks I say I won't return. This time was the last!
