  1. Kids need discipline. How else are they to know right from wrong. When my wife and I met I had two kids and she had one. Her daughters who was four at the time we met wasn't horrible, but my wife would let her get away with way more than I allowed my kids to. The wife and I addressed the discipline issue by discussing ways her daughter could/should be punished and she would deal it out. I saw the wood spoon get used more than a couple of times. My kids on the other hand knew that if I gave them the look they better straighten up. Hardly ever hit my son, but my daughter got it a little more often. Girls! We have been married 20 years now and my stepdaughter is getting ready to give birth to her second daughter. She has turned out to be a great kid, but she needs to tighten up her parenting skills or she will be dealing with a couple of brats in the years to come. The most important thing in your life should be your kids. If the GF can't get it together than maybe it just isn't meant to be. Good luck!
  2. Welcome to the forum. Lots of good folks here.
  3. Hootie, That is the best one I have ever heard! Gary
  4. I have had flouro break on me a number of times too. I am faithful about using KVD line conditioner also. The most recent break off was considerably deep in the the spool. Lost a good lure after a long cast AHH!!!!! The line I have been using is the BP brand.
  5. That certainly is sad news. I hope he can recover the best possible. My FIL has a farm in upstate NY and I have worked with him numerous times. It is a dangerous profession. God speed for his recovery.
  6. Yes, the 190 TX has much more front deck space. From the console back each of the BT are about the same dimensions. I previously had a BT 185 PT with a 50hp. It was a great boat, but the 190PT with the 115 Optimax is by far a better fishing boat. I would call Bass Tracker direct and see if they can locate you one.
  7. I purchased a 2013 BT Pro Team 190 TX at the end of last year This is the second BT I have owned and I am very pleased with it. I have 2 friends that also have BT and love them. I wanted to get a 2014, but the wasted space of the front live well to me was to much of a trade off. I need the storage capacity. I don't think you can go wrong with a BT. There are a lot of good used boats out there also. Good luck with your search!
  8. I have had more than one Pickerel crap all over my boat. They like to bleed a lot too.
  9. I love the challenge and it helps keep me sane!
  10. Mine will come with me, but if she isn't catching fish after about 1 hr. she wants to ride around and look at houses. It drives me nuts!
  11. Started out Friday morning in a sweatshirt and jacket. By 10AM I was down to a short sleeve shirt. I love this time of year here in Fla. but sure do miss my lake in upper NYS. Fishing in NY is way better than here.
  12. Yes it is safe to rinse it off with water. Once you do just dry everything off and keep an eye on it. You probably will be fine.
  13. Great! Thanks very much.
  14. Guess I need to add a signature. I will be fishing from a BT 190 PT with a 115 Pro XS. Should be going Tuesday. Wind is suppose to be East to SE.
  15. I fish 98% of the time by myself which I do enjoy, but the most fun is having my son and grandson who is 8 with me. The little guy doesn't fish all that much yet, but he sure is entertaining watching him net fish for us and just his imagination keeps us entertained.
  16. Hoping to head to Lake Eustis this week for the first time and was hoping to get any info anyone may have on fishing it. Thanks!
  17. Eight hours on the St Johns River, Lake Woodruff and Lake Dexter today. One small LM about 12". It down right sucked! A friend fishing in his boat only picked up one also, but it was about 3 LB.
  18. Each of the two rods I had were great to use right up to the point they snapped. First one snapped close to the tip on a hook set. Returned that one for a replacement. Second one snapped about 6" down when casting a lure. Returned it and got a Duckett.
  19. I bet that water was cold!
  20. Well to the forum. Lots of good info shared here!
  21. I have been using the BPS XPS on my reels and have had great success with it this past 6 mos. I also use the KVD line treatment.
  22. I am fortunate to be able to fish year round so my stuff stays in my boat. I do loosen the drags at the end of the days fishing and keep moisture absorbing pouches I picked up at Tractor Supply in the compartments.
  23. You can install it yourself. It isn't that difficult!
  24. How are you fishing the jigs with the trailers?
