I slightly under fill my high speed flip/pitch trig/jig reels.. It allows room for a slack line respool, crankbait type setups, I fill proper due to tight line retrieval methods. Spinning, slightly under filled as well..

I had the 843 & 844 CBR, I used the 844 all the time, never really used the 843 much. Although it did throw 3/8 just fine.. The 844 threw everything really well for me.

The old fighters always fight beyond their prime, Ali sure did, Foreman as well. I paid I believe $35 to see Tyson and Spinks in about 88, however I was obtaining beer and pizza ( in kitchen )when 90 seconds later it was all over.. Well I got to see the slow motion rewind! I've hoisted plenty of fish outta hydrilla & Pads with heavy mono, then Yozuri hybrid.. Haven't tried a straight FC ( flipping )& don't care much for Braid, although I understand the love for it, I guess! Point is, mono will get the job done and has for years.. With all the choices nowadays, you probably are going to have to try them all, then settle on that experience alone..

Actually Hardy lake is very close to Austin, it's a smallish State Campground, with a very fertile lake.. I've done very well on it. In the early 90's a over 50" musky was killed by a ski boat ( prop Nobody had a clue there was musky in there, DNR staff, were baffled..

I used a Duckett 7'11" crank bait rod on Kentucky lake and it lacks just about everything including durability. Aka, the white carrot stick... Owned a 5 power Powell as well, it's light years ahead of a Duckett. Before I chose a another Duckett I would make a rod out of Osage orange. Go Powell outta these two choices...easily..
