  2. A Fog bank rolled in on a buddy and I one morning didn't noticed a change in the bite how ever as the fog got heavier we decided being that we were fishing a point on the river channel of this lake we should move out of the line of fire. So we trolled over to the edge of the bank to wait for the fog to lift enough for us to troll on safely. The fog got so thick we could barely see each other standing at both ends of a 21 foot Triton and sure enough we hear this JACKA## coming down the lake at full speed he passed right by us about 50 to 75 feet from us and we never seen him. After we stated how careless this guy is we realized he went right threw where we were. This story could be a lot different or not be told at all. The GPS electronics are a great tool but like all tools if not used correctly it could end badly. If I have to navigate in the fog I use the same rule that I use for navigating at night, (Only go as fast as you want to hit something)
  3. What should the water temp be for this great fall bite ? The lake I fish the water temp is in the low 70's
  4. Hell the way my season has went I'm lucky to get two fish in an outing let alone two on one cast. The closes I've came was a fish on back to back cast.

Sam do you know who and what won the tournament.
  6. Always the faster you get the fish back in the water the better it will be for the fish. If you have a deep hook set or you have a picture worthy fish you can always put it in the live well so the fish can recover after the stress of the fight only if a live well is available of course.
  7. I am sure we have all notice that this problem is not only in our local sporting good stores that is why I always do my research before I go to purchase anything so when you get there the sale rep can just point you in the right direction. Hell that is why I joined this site when I started bass fishing because with the guys on this site like Glenn, Sam and all you other guys who are so willing to help and give advice on gear, lures and techniques there is no reason for you to walk in any bait and tackle store not knowing what you are looking for. I'm a contractor and when I'm at Lowes and Home Depot some of the things I hear the sales reps tell people just crack me up.
  8. x2 However it has happened to many time this season but I still have fun ever time I go out because there are so many people that can't even get out there and enjoy our great sport.
  9. I run my own business and find it funny when customers try to get me to FIT THEM IN because they thing there job is more important or pays more. I couldn't even image running my business that way if that got out your appointment book would clear quickly. If that's the way he wants to run his business may he should not have a set price and just open all his dates up for bid. He has to be that good to be able to give up his evening job.

My guess 3 1/2 to 4 based on the size of his head the size of your hand the distanced between the tale and the marble size eye. lol It is very hard to say. Have you weighed other bass you have landed if so what is your best guess.
  12. I agree with you on hoping they would release it. There is a spot on the river I fish called the log jam that everyone knows about. A couple weeks ago my wife and I was working our way down to the log jam we could hear a couple of guys in that area and could hear them laughing and caring on after landing a nice fish. A short while later they motored up and headed our way when they got close to us they slowed up I asked him how big was that fish they caught he reached in the live well and pulled out hawg said it weighs 8.83. Around here 22" - 8ib largemouth is a trophy fish I hope he was just going to have it measure and weighed and then release it. I plan on mounting my first 8 pounder but I will have a replica made.
  13. Glenn I just joined this year I don't know what caused you to start a site like this but I can tell you for a newbie to bass fishing the knowledge on this site and bassresource's videos has created a huge curve in bass fishing. Nothing takes the place of time on the water but you guys give us a huge head start. I would like to personally thank everyone for there shared knowledge and Glenn's no nonsense videos.
  14. Great fish, but be careful of the back ground you are going to give away your location to the locals.lol
  15. I started doing this in the yard {practicing left hand casting} because when fishing bank lines on the river there some places you can't cast to do to the position of the boat and you are right the left wrist tiers quickly but it is get better.
  16. Trained bass , not unbelievable look how well ours wives has trained us and we not even know it.
  17. My buddy got me three times a couple of weeks ago. We are fishing on the river so there is a lot of low over hangs you have to side cast under and for some reason he always raises the motor all the way up and there you go smack the top of the motor BACKLASH.
  18. Sounds like a good day not just an afternoon, well one of my days any way Good luck on the rest of the week.
  19. I agree with gulfcaptain the little bit of money you save on the bass pro line is not worth the let down it will leave you with, But that's another thread. Congrats on a great fish and a great experiences with your dad sharing those moments with someone is the best and when it is with a love one it is even better
  20. Use a seamstress measuring tape. they are soft and easy to handle and they will not harm the fish.
  21. I say bluegill. Had one grab hold of my june bug U-tail Sunday and did not let go until I picked it up out of the water. I wish bass stayed with a bait like that.
  22. Nice fish definitely picture worthy, Looks to be about 17" to 18" 3 to 4 pounds hard to say from a picture. Still a nice fish. A lot bigger then anything I caught this weekend.
  23. I feel your pain it has been a tough week here also, went out Friday afternoon for 5 hours picked up 3 small ones. Went out today 6 hours this morning and 3 hours this evening nothing a BIG GOOSE EGG. Thank goodness the weather was beautiful and I was with my favored fishing partner ( my wife)
