@ABrugs I think 12-14# will be just about perfect for you. I absolutely love fishing tubes and throw them with casting gear using anywhere from 6-22# fc depending on how I'm fishing. That said, about 70% of my tube fishing is done with 3.5-4" tubes, 12-14# fc, on a MHish rod, and using 3/16-3/8 insert heads or stupid rigged. I honestly find 12 and 14# pretty much handle about the same, and just use whichever size I have on hand-so usually whichever size a got a deal on haha. While I don't fish the great lakes, do fish various Ozark rivers and lakes at similar depths as you described. I also find 12/14 is a pretty versatile line size and use the described setups for various other applicatons.

I’m also not a fan of glass for chatter baits or spinnerbaits. Tried it, worked ok, but wasn’t for me. Glass is for treble hooks baits as far as I’m concerned

I’d get a P5 if I were you, and also pay megabass the $100 for the replacement. Whenever the US replacement arrives you could easily sell whichever you don’t want.

The most recent US Destroyer line has been discontinued to my knowledge, thought the JDM P5s are available through American retailers. Wouldn't be surprised if we see a new US line with the specs upped to match the P5. If it does happen, I'd really like the see a Destroyer equivalent of the Perfect Pitch, no doubt that rod would sell well.

In my experience the Diesel rods provide a lot of bang for the buck, and at current sale pricing you really can't go wrong. I kind of regret selling my Diesels

Spinning or casting? Which specific model with in each series are you considering? Assuming you are looking at spinning, the XX Shakeyhead, or possibly Whipsnake would do well.
